Good morning, all! Hope everyone is recovering well from the festive period. I am still some way off of my first target of £1200 for the London Marathon so, if you have some spare pennies, please sponsor me! Every £5 donated will be given a random gnome name and the chance of winning £75 in the draw.

Long time, no post! Hope everyone has had a wonderful festive period and is ready for NYE and 2025! I still have quite some way to go to hit my target. So, if you have any spare change, even just a few quid, please consider donating to my Just Giving page to support Scope. Or, if you fancy a chance to win £75, donate a fiver and you will be given a gnome name from the grid. The winner will be announced as soon as all squares are sponsored!

There's still plenty of chances to win £75! All you need to do is choose one of the remaining names (or more, if you prefer!) and donate £5 to paypal.me/lottierunslondon. The remaining money raised will be going to Scope as part of my fundraising for the London Marathon 2025.
The winner will be announced as soon as the card has been filled.

"But you can't run. You have a stick." Quite possibly the most stupid, and most hurtful, thing anyone has ever said to me.
Living with two conflicting conditions is exhausting. On the one hand, I have fibromyalgia, a chronic illness that causes all over aches and pains, leading to exhaustion from trying to live a normal life. On the other hand, I have lumbar spondylosis, the deterioration of the discs in my lower spine causing constant pain.
How do they conflict when they both cause pain, I hear you ask. Well, to recover from a fibro flare, I need to rest. To ease extremely high levels of lumbar pain and stop my hips and lower back from seizing, I need to exercise and running in particular really helps.
It is a very difficult balance, and means that training every day can be a real battle, especially when the fibro is hitting hard. I have just been referred to a spinal surgeon to see what, if anything, can be done about my lumbar spine.
But, while I can still run, I darned well will! It is the only time I do not feel pain, and it really helps with my mental health and clarity. I feel free when I run. As a disabled person, that feeling is beautiful and I will not be giving it up easily.

The plan for next year's Marathon is to finish in under 6 hours. But that's still a long time and I'm gonna need me a playlist. Wanna make a suggestion? Pop a donation on to my Just Giving page (minimum £1), with your choice of song in the comments, and i will add to my list and listen to it on the day!
