Tough result to take with the result so heavily influenced by the referee, but we take it on the chin and move on. Great to have so many U16 lads starting to be integrated in to Colts for next Season. Enjoy the pics.

Stow-On-The-Wold 29-28 Men’s Own

Man of the Match goes to with a strong performance at 10. Did not miss a conversion; every penalty to touch was inch perfect - and his hard lines and big tackles were superb. We deserved the win, but it wasn’t to be.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Some of our U17’s lads were asked to join today, to give their final training session before they fly out to Argentina for the ‘7s Rugby World Cup’ from 05-09 April 2023 in Cordoba.

As a Club, this year we are playing some friendlies in preparation for next Season. Today we took a fixture against Coventry Welsh U17’s at home; a team we don’t know anything about and knew little of their results.

As it turned out, the Coventry guys were a fantastic group of coaches and players but it’d be fair to say that their teams ability was a little mismatched against ours.

The first try came almost immediately and they came thick and fast thereafter. Fortunately we weren’t at full-strength, but when the score was 54-0 after a little over 20 minutes we suggested that we changed things up.

Our lads wouldn’t learn anything, and from Coventry’s perspective we didn’t want to leave them totally disheartened. Our Forwards, mixed with the Backs and vice-versa! We stopped counting the score then and just had a fun afternoon of rugby.

I couldn’t tell you who won after that, except for the game of rugby itself. We fully appreciate Coventry Welsh travelling down to our little oasis in Northampton. We wish you well for the rest of the season.

In fact it seemed like the whole crowd enjoyed their Sunday out in the sun, we hope you enjoyed what you saw! Fast-flowing rugby played in a fun atmosphere - now there’s an idea that might catch on.
