Northampton Social Netball Leagues

I’m delighted to welcome on board Amy Stewart to our management team for the week to week running of the Northampton leagues.

Amy is an incredibly enthusiastic netball individual who was recently nominated for a host of awards in the recent Yorkshire Netball One awards including Unsung Hero of the Year, Coach of the Year and Community Official of the Year. Amy has helped to establish North Ferriby Netball Club, umpires two “Netball Leagues” in Anlaby, Hull, runs a successful Back to Netball session whilst managing a full time job also! Wow!

Amy will be your intermediate for communication - both players and umpires - and will help manage the leagues going forward. Michael will continue to oversee and will still be available. Amy’s vast experience of playing, umpiring and coaching will make her an ideal asset for overall structure, answering questions and providing solutions in quick time.

In due course we will both visit the leagues so you can put a face to the name and contact details will be provided privately in the very near future to team captains following a period of training for Amy later this month.

I’m sure you’ll all join me in welcoming Amy to the team in what will be an excellent addition. 🙌🏻🏐

VENUE CLOSED @ University of Northampton

As per communications sent to captains of teams in the Northampton Sunday Netball League, the sports dome at the university is still closed awaiting essential maintenance work on the leaking roof. They have provisional closed the next four Sundays to allow time for the work to be concluded.

We are as disappointed as you are to have this closure so early into our season.

Behind the scenes we are trying to find alternative venues in the interim whilst the work is carried out.

We have secured Moulton College sports hall for the 12th and 19th November and would hope we may be in a position the week after to return to the sports dome on the 26th. Work is still ongoing to secure a venue for the 5th November. We will keep you updated.

What I would like to update you on is that we have been on a decent recruitment drive for new players and have secured two new players for three of our teams - notably Shooting Stars, Foxes and Against All Odds. We are pleased to announce we also have a new team joining us to conclude the final space. So whilst it has been frustrating to have these cancellations it has enabled us to enlarge squads and recruit a new team in the process - so every cloud!

🏐🏐 It’s matchday! After last weeks excellent training session we’re all geared up and ready to go for the first game of the new Northampton Sunday fun & social netball league.
