🟢RACE REPORT🟢
RHPK - ROUND 7 - SATURDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER 2022
TEAM TSG KARTING #58
New team drivers for this round. Alex Harley and Ben Johnson join Ami and Tom.
Finishing P5 in class and P14 overall.
Practice went really well and all doing fast and consistent lap times.
Qualified 16th, which was ok. With a 4 hour race we had a chance of catching up, especially with us all setting good pace in practice.
Tom starts the race but unfortunately gets bashed into on the first hairpin. Didn't seem too bad but caused him to go wide and move down a few places, to 21st. He settles down and makes his way back up 15th. Looking at lap times and they didn't seem as good as what he was setting in practice. We put it down to maybe tyre pressure. Unfortunately he spins out which put us back down to 21st.
Alex went out second and did a fab stint, especially only second time around Rye House track too. Pulled us up a few more places.
Ami was up next and the team noticed her lap times were off the pace from practice too and we just wasn't sure why.... She did a good stint and just carried on the best she could....
Ben was up next to bring us home. Also noticing his lap times were off a little as well. Did the best he could for the hour a half and got us up to a wicked 14th and 5th in class. It was an amazing stint
Absolutely brilliant work by all the team.
Once the kart was in the team looked over it and the rear left tyre had be pushed in which lead to the chain and sprocket alignment being off too. We think this was caused by the accident on first hair pin at the start of the race, as no other crashes happened.
That's why our lap times were off by at least 3 to 4 tenths a lap. Lost about 3 to 4 laps over the 4 hours. If this didn't happen we could of finished so much higher but these things happen...
Nice to know it wasn't us physically being off the pace. It couldn't of be helped. Was lucky to even finish the race. So we are all very happy with the end result.
Big thanks to 7Kart UK Limited for helping us out. Bring on round 8!!!😃👍
Huge thanks to James Taylor and JZ Racing for help on the kart and in pits.

🟢Driver Alert🟢
We are happy to announce Alex will be driving for both TSG and JZ, as he joins Ami as the other dual drivers.
After Alex invited Zack to his team at the BUKC 24hr, Zack was very impressed with his driving and Tom from TSG asked if he would join us for British 24hr, he impressed Tom so he joins both. Alex will be mainly driving for TSG but there will be some racing with JZ.
Welcome to the team Alex

🟢24 Hour Report🟢
It didn’t start well. With 2 weeks notice the team who were to support us pulled out. Luckily we were able to switch to use JZ Racing’s 7 Kart.
The team arrived on Wednesday, we knew this would be a big challenge, including running our own kart, lack of track time and for some drivers, no track knowledge
Grabex helped get the kart race ready. We went out on Thursday and all felt very comfortable and on Friday we just ran some practice stops for the pits.
Saturday was soon upon us. Alex went out in the rain for qualifying. We had a major issue, one of the clutches decided to give up, leaving us with no choice but to bring the kart in for repairs.
Zack started the race in P30 and made a couple of positions by turns 1 and 2, but a few spinners in front of him left him with nowhere to go, he was forced off into the gravel and we dropped to the back of the grid,79th.By the end of his sting we were back to P38 and there was still 22 hours ahead
Stint by stint we pulled back positions, and a great finish in class looked possible. Up in P17 though, it all went wrong when unfortunately when Tom was doing his first stint the sprocket decided to shred itself. After a 22 minute pit stop to change this, we came back out in P69 but back up to P28
Ami had a great stint in the evening, keeping pace with everyone and gained a few positions. Great driving as always
We were back out and back on pace straight away, then the rain came….
Beau asked to double stint at midnight, just as the heavens opened. He did over 3 hrs 30 and was consistently one of the quickest on track. Josh followed and was also quickest on track. Two awesome stints
Alex then went out in the now torrential rain and very low visibility
Team captains were called to a meeting when it was decided that the race was going to be red flagged
So we finished an awesome 10th in Clubman Class and 22nd Overall
We would like to thank
James, Dave, Stuart and Mark, without them we wouldn’t have been able to compete and it allowed us to focus on racing.
Big thanks also to GRABEX RACING, without them we couldn’t have raced and
Rob from 7Kart UK Limited for sorting things out for us too.
See you all at the 2023 24 Hour!😁
