Segway at Willows

We have now sold all of our surplus Segways (we have kept several for our own use 😊 !)

Thank you again to our customers over the 10 years we operated the Segway sessions.

Following our post advising that, for various reasons, we have decided that we will not re-open for Segway sessions (the mail order plant nursery will continue as normal), we have now sold most of the surplus Segways (we are keeping several for our own use 😊 !) and we have just 3 Segways still for sale.

They were repaired and serviced by Segway UK's official service engineer earlier this year and we are looking for £2,000 each.

We have decided that we will not re-open for Segway sessions after the Covid 19 lockdown ends (the plant nursery will continue as normal).

That does mean that we have a surplus of Segways (we will of course keep several for our own use 😊!) and we will be offering several Segways For Sale.

There are currently restrictions on where Segways can be used – but use on private sites/property is permitted.
Many previous riders have said “We could do with one of these at work” (large sites, warehouses etc).

Of course, the majority were just joking – but if anyone is interested in buying one of our newer Segways (for work or fun) please get in touch !

We hadn't actually started our Segway Season this year because of the continuing rain on already waterlogged ground - but, obviously, we have cancelled existing bookings and are not taking further bookings for the foreseeable future.

We have stopped Segway Sessions for the winter !.

So . . . . . this is what we mean when we say Segwaying depends on the weather and ground conditions !
We’ll have to see how things improve (or not) as to whether or not we can operate any more sessions this year.

Last weekend's Segwaying was in slightly wet and muddy conditions - but everyone still had fun ! The tracks have now dried out again and conditions are good.

We generally operate Segway Sessions into November - subject to the weather and ground conditions, before closing for the winter - so, hopefully, we have a few more weeks to take bookings.

I took this photograph whilst walking Molly this morning and checking the tracks.

At last we have had some very welcome proper rain, after about a month and a half of barely any !

However, it will take a bit more to close up the cracks that are showing in some of the tracks because of our heavy clay soil drying out ! Not that the cracks are a problem to Segwaying as the Segway wheels are big and chunky !

Due to the way that we run our sessions here at Willows, you are never mixed with other groups - you can enjoy our 18 acre site only with the friends, family or colleagues that you come with !

This applies if there are only 2 of you or up to our maximum of 16 people !

Apart from a couple of soggy patches, we are very pleased to say that the Segway tracks are (AT LAST) dry and even last night's rain didn't cause any changes to that !

No Segwaying today !

We'd usually have stopped for the winter by now anyway - too muddy - but we'd not reached that stage and have had some valiant segwayers in the cold !

After today it may be that the weather and ground conditions mean we've finished until around Easter - but we can provide gift vouchers (sent as an email attachment for you to print off) which will be valid until the end of October 2018 just phone or email for details.

Segway Northants

I know that many people who come to Segway at Willows aren't too bothered about the surroundings and many don't even notice some of the 'quirky' things dotted around the 18 acre site - and that's totally fine. They just enjoy riding the Segways and that's great ! That's the most important thing !

But for those who like the little details too, our woven willow wheelbarrow person is looking particularly happy in his setting at the moment with the irises in full flower !
