This year, nine amazing athletes from Lings Disabilities Gymnastics Club have qualified for the Special Olympics National Games 2026 in Birmingham – the largest team we have ever sent to a National Games. For many of our gymnasts, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent their club and achieve their dreams on a national stage.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help cover the costs of travel, accommodation, competition fees, and support throughout the Games, ensuring that every athlete who has worked so hard to qualify has the opportunity to compete.

If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing our fundraising page with your friends, family, and colleagues. Spreading the word can make a huge difference.

Another weekend another competition!!

Our fabulous Special Olympic gymnasts competed all weekend at Waveney Gymnastics Club on the East Coast!

Their second National Special Olympic competition of the year and once again they absolutely smashed it!!

We took 11 gymnasts and every single one of them gained 5 medals each!! Amazing achievement!!

We are incredibly proud of our gymnasts not because of the medals they have won, but because of the qualities they demonstrate every competition.

Their commitment, determination, and perseverance inspire everyone around them.
They show up ready to work hard, support one another, and face challenges with courage and resilience. Their positive attitude, respect for coaches and teammates, and willingness to keep improving are what truly set them apart.
The team spirit they display, celebrating each other's successes and encouraging one another through setbacks, reflects the values that matter most. Their behaviour, sportsmanship, and dedication both inside and outside the gym make them outstanding role models.

While achievements and medals are wonderful rewards for their hard work, it is their character, kindness, effort, and passion for the sport that make us most proud. They represent everything that gymnastics should be about, and we are honoured to support and celebrate each and every one of them. 💕

As per your your emails, due to the hot weather and low attendance after the competition weekend and Half term, we will be merging recreational classes all week.

Those that normally attend ar 4.15pm please can you come at 5.15pm.

Those that normally train at 7.15pm please can you attend at 6.15pm instead.

What can I say… what a fabulous competition weekend! 🤩

I am so incredibly proud of each and every gymnast who competed at our Club Championships. From beautiful routines and impeccable behaviour to the biggest smiles all weekend long — you were all amazing and represented the club brilliantly. ❤️

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers. Events like this simply couldn’t run without your time, energy and support.

I also want to give a massive shoutout to my incredible coaching team. Your hard work, dedication and encouragement behind the scenes never goes unnoticed, and I’m so grateful for everything you do for our gymnasts and club.

To all our parents and families — thank you for your continued support, patience and encouragement. We truly appreciate everything you do.

A special thank you as well to our judges, who gave up their time over a Bank Holiday weekend to support our event — we are so grateful for your dedication and expertise.

And of course, a special mention to all of our trophy winners especially to those that scored the highest score overall in their competitions; Mair, Alessia, Ella, Freya, Pixie, Ellie a fantastic achievement and very well deserved! 🏆

Well done to Lorena, Thea, Luna, Grace, Daisy, Rose and Martyna for receiving the Brenda Hughes award. My mum would have been very proud of you all!! 💕

Everyone coped so well with the heat this weekend too! ☀️ I may need to consider this when panning for next year!! 🥵🫠
