Is there a certain time to start your Tai Chi journey? When you do, doesn't it simply occur? You contact the teacher, come along and join in. Seems so simple; yet the swelling mist of our lives turns us round and round and round. It often takes a special set of circumstances to find oneself studying the Art.
Yet we're not little children, we're adults. Each step we take is ours to command. Isn't it?
The push hands workshop this Saturday 10-4pm will be focussing on rooting. The ability to keep one's rooting through listening and feeling is the essence of the Art of Tai Chi. Push hands accelerates the growth of your rooting - internal power - a force unseen, but felt by others. When your rooting develops, your confidence and solidity does too. Rooted people present differently. Seasoned Tai Chi practitioners emanate certain qualities of palpable calmness and centredness and are some of the hallmarks of successful practice.
Develop your rooting and transform yourself.
All welcome.

Ok, so Thursday evenings (7-8:30pm for Tai Chi and 8:30-9:30pm for power training and applications) will continue at the Deeper Being training cabin, 257 Harlestone Road NN5 6DD, for now, as St Gregory's RC Church hall is currently shut. When you arrive for Thursday evening class, please avoid parking in front 255, 259 and 261 - please spread yourselves out x.
Fyi, there's been a fire at the Church and the whole thing's shut right now. No one has been hurt. They don't seem to know the cause as yet. It's been described as 'substantial damage'.
Just a reminder:
Tai chi Thursdays 10-11:30am is now always at our back garden training cabin.
Tai Chi this evening is also at our training cabin, next week reverts back to St Gregory's

Tai Chi Workshop - Saturday 8th November 2025
Increasing Power, Poise and Vitality
Through Loosening The Waist
‐-‐---
Tai Chi strengthens the core through relaxing the waist, pelvis and hips and leading from the lower Tan Tien (the centre a couple of inches below the belly button).
Tai Chi practice builds, power, strength and resilience through mindful action that increases energy flow. Energy flows when you relax with purpose (Yi).
Opening the energy channels of the waist, hips and pelvis can improve pelvic and hip health, strengthen the back and improve posture. Through accurately practicing and exploring Tai Chi concepts and principles, you can move forwards in your Tai Chi journey, increasing your health, vitality and subtle, sensitive, yet extremely potent power.
Whether a total beginner or experienced Tai Chi adept, this workshop will be of value and help you move forwards.
