At Wildside, we don’t just put up fences and clear land.
While working on a project where we’ve been on site for the past 8 months, our team were called in at short notice on Friday 19th December to deal with an urgent issue.
A 6-inch land drain had been dug up by another contractor and left open over the Christmas period, putting the surrounding field at serious risk of flooding.
Our team immediately stopped what they were doing, pumped out the water, found the damaged section, dug it out, and repaired the pipe before the field flooded.
A great example of teamwork, responsibility, and stepping up when it matters.
👏 Well done to the team
🎄 Merry Christmas and we’ll see you all in the New Year

Interesting workmates onsite today, a common lizard (Zootoca vivipara) came to inspect our work. Whilst "common" very rarely spotted, its one of Britain's three native lizards (along with Sand Lizard and Slowworm). They are variable in colour. Typically, the upper-surface is brownish, with lines of darker markings passing along the back which are often bordered with white or yellow. Males have bright undersides, typically yellow or orange in colour whereas, in contrast, females tend to have much duller, pale underparts. It is found at a variety of habitats such as heaths, woodland glades, railway embankments, and even gardens.
