Hello everyone, I hope you are all well π I am absolutely gutted that we haven't been able to run as normal this year! We won't be running any sports camps during the Christmas holidays as this would mean mixing bubbles already in place at school and creating a potential risk to the children, parents and Rising Stars coaches.
I hope you all have an amazing Christmas break and fingers crossed for some more sports camps in 2021.
If you have any questions regarding our sports camp, our decision not to run or need any ideas for keeping the children active over Christmas then please get in touch.

Dance- Saskiaβs dance school on YouTube (the children love copying the movesππΌ), just dance on the Wii, dance games (musical bumps, musical statues etc), or follow the link for some Disney Dance-Alongs ππΌ https://www.thisgirlcan.co.uk/activities/disney-workouts/
Todayβs idea will definitely burn off some energy ππΌπ΄ Circuits-30 seconds on each station. Station ideas- step ups, shuttle runs, sit ups, press ups, plank, star jumps, skipping, tuck jumps, ladders, burpees, running on the spot πͺπΌ

Ball control- throwing and catching (with or without a partner), add claps, throw ball against wall let it bounce and catch, balloonπ(keep it off the floor, through a hoop), moving the ball round different parts of your body (round the waist, through legs etc) β½οΈπππΎπππ

Gymnastics- balances (see picture, can you name them too?), rolls, headstand(use a pillow to protect the head), handstand, cartwheel, jumps (tuck, straight, straddle, pike, half turn, full turn) please be mindful of your space and use a soft mat or flooring where possible π€ΈπΌββοΈπ€ΈπΌπ€ΈπΌββοΈ

Athletics- long jump (use a tape measure,high jump (use chalk on one hand or a post it note, jump as high as you can) speed bounce (put a small object eg. cereal box,how many times can you jump over it in 30 seconds), races (running, hurdles, sack races, egg and spoon races)
