On Sunday John joined the Basketball Northants tournament event to mark the opening of the newly refurbished basketball courts on the Racecourse.

On Afternoon Delight today, John chats to Pete a player with Northants Phoenix Wheelchair Basketball Club. He explains how you don't need to be a wheelchair user to take part in the sport, the benefits and how you can get involved.

Next weekend we have something a little different!

On Saturday 30th 09.45 we are inviting staff, volunteers and students who work at Reach for Health in Daventry to come and experience the sport. They work with people of all abilities and could point potential new players towards us.

Then on the following day, Sunday 31st 12.30 we are attending the launch of the refurbished outdoor courts on Northampton Racecourse.
This is organised by West Northamptonshire Council and Northants Basketball and is an opportunity to promote the club to "running game" players and the general public. It is a 3x3 competition and we will be demonstrating wheelchair basketball by playing 3x3 ourselves and letting others try the wheelchair game (so we need at least 6 of us there).
Next weekend is a great opportunity to promote the club and our sport to the wider community.

Back training this Saturday, June 25th. Meet at the gates of Quinton House School, Upton Hall, NN5 4UX at 09.45.

No training next Saturday, June 18th, both keyholders and our coach have other commitments.

We are not training this Saturday, May 28th. But will be on Saturday June 4th (Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend).
