You know it's an important weekend when you see the championship flags out on the course!
The team have put a lot of hard work into preparing the course in preparation for the club championships this weekend. Even tho it has rained all day we hope all that are playing enjoy and play well
We go again tomorrow for the final round where the weather is looking a lot better 🤞🏻
Good luck to those who are playing from the Green Staff
With a quiet course today we took full advantage and aerated all of the greens going to a depth of 6 inches
Weather permitting tomorrow we will follow this up with a light top dressing to
For anyone ever wondering what happens when we aerate the greens here is a little slow mo to show you, enjoy!
It was all system go this morning to get the course set up and ready for the Midlands Boys Championship
Hopefully all that played today had a good time at NGC and we look forward to seeing you again next year

Afternoon everyone, we have noticed over the past few days that the greens are being heavily hit with pitch marks and not being repaired or repaired correctly! This is starting to have a big effect on the greens so if everyone can do what they can to repair their pitch marks that would be much appreciated

💎 You've got to love a diamond stripe 💎
The Fairways are coming on great this year so shout out to Simon Plummer for his hard work on them
Over the next 2 days we will be taking our snake rotary mower over them to help cut back any stalks that could be popping up on the fairways

Ever wondered what this little thing is you might see every morning being put into the greens?
It is called a pogo and it has many uses that benefit the greens and gives us the info we need, but we use it mainly for moisture readings
So what we do is take 18-20 readings from around the green by inserting this into the ground. This then takes a moisture readings from each spot we have tested and sends it to our phones for all of the greenkeepers to see. After all 18-20 samples are taken it gives us an overview of the whole green and where we might be high and low in moisture. By looking at the overview we can determine where to hand water with a wetting agent pellet if the moisture is too low. also by doing this process helps us to save water and in these hot days which is very beneficial
The team has been hard at it all day to try and get the bunkers back in play after yesterday's down pour!
With most of the green side bunkers back in play tomorrow we will focus on the fairway ones

WOW we knew we were due rain but didn't expect that much!! 32mm in 2 hours must be a new record!
Please bare with us whilst work is being carried out on the course as there is a lot of damage out there!
Also please note that all bunkers are G.U.R at the moment

Afternoon all
So in the past 24 hours the course received a welcoming 8mm of rain 🙌🏻
With this it gave us the chance to do some course renovation work on the greens, This included verti cutting and cutting the greens, a light top dressing of sand and also taking advantage of a dry afternoon to brush it in
Here are a few photos of the process
