I am getting round to replying to all the freshers and new members, this week.

Sessions are starting 21th October. The sessions will run from 2:30 – 4pm with a maximum of 8 people including committee members. Membership to the society is free this year so come down to a session and meet us. Signing up to sessions will be done through my gateway. Signups close 48 hours before the session. Signing up for the transport is also done on my gateway but is separate to signing up for the session itself.

The new academic year is starting. Obviously, due to Covid-19 everyone is slightly unsure of how this year will turn out. However, we are still hoping to be able to get back onto the water. The Virtual Activities fair is on today, so I hope some of you find your way to this page from that event. I will be getting more information on what activities we will be able to run this year and hope to share that information with you very soon. Thanks for everyone who came down in reading week for the kayaking pool session.
Finally got to meet the chair of the Leicester Uni kayaking society. Hopefully we will be able to meet them more in the future.

Due to the recent heavy rain LOPC has cancelled the session at the river as it is unsafe for beginners. The flooding of the site means that the session today Wednesday 2nd October is not going ahead. The social will still be running at the distillery at 8 pm if you wish to come down and have a drink with us.
Consideration will be made to the people who signed up for this session and they will be given priority for the next weeks pool session.

I hope everyone is having a good start to freshers. Tomorrow and Wednesday is the Activities Fair, so come down to our stall in the QEII Gym to learn about Kayaking at DMU. We will be happy to answer any questions that you have about the society and how we run our sessions. Attached is a QR code link to our leaflet for anyone who isn’t attending.

4 Kayaks have been stolen from Whitemoor Lakes Activity centre in Alrewas near Lichfield. WS13 8QT

We have had 3 Red/White B2's (Medium) one with connect 30 outfitting and 1 Blue/White B2 (Large) stolen from site some time between Saturday night (24th) and Sunday morning (25th) September.

If anyone has any information or see any boats fitting this description please let us know.
