Hartford SAC members enjoyed a day practicing boat handling skills on Menai.

Congratulations to Tony and Steve for signing off their Dive Leader training yesterday! Well done on a fantastic achievement and months of hard work. Thank you also to the instructors who helped them along the way.

A lovely day at Delph Watersports Centre yesterday, where 4 members participated in Dive leader training - and did a fun project dive, where we performed an underwater search for some lost treasures, then followed a carefully worked out plan to measure the underwater visibility. Even with the growing algal bloom we measured 4m visibility at the shallow end! Water temperature was still only 6-7C, but the warm sunshine more than made up for that. 😎😀

Today we're refreshing our first aid skills, O2 administration and AED training. Skills we hope we never need to use but everyone should know how to do!

Club members had fun ten pin bowling, followed by a sociable meal, in recognition of our own Colin Mills, who has been an amazing BSAC diving instructor for 40 years!
Colin's dedication and commitment have helped many, many divers develop the skills needed to enjoy the underwater world. He has also helped more than a few of us gain the instructor skills which have then enabled us to help others in our turn.
Colin was presented with a certificate from BSAC, and - somewhat to his surprise - a sweatshirt and quaich proudly displaying his new title, "Honorary Life President", which his friends in the club felt was a fitting tribute to his many years of teaching.

Our Colin has been a BSAC - British Sub-Aqua Club instructor for 40 years! Yesterday we celebrated it being 40 years to the day of gaining his certification with a few drinks and a lot of cake 🎂🍾. There will be an activity day and meal at the end of the month to celebrate this amazing achievement too. Congratulations to Colin for inspiring so many people and helping them to gain their qualifications over all those years! 🎉

Congratulations to Beth, Mitch, and Edward, for excellent passes in their exams. Sports diver is looming!
