So after Grading what do we do ? we chill a bit in the junior class , a few reaction rounds with the light pods, always good fun, then some leg work on pads.

Also our youngest student george was presented his certificate and new mini dragons white and green belt after showcasing over the weeks his techniques 🙌🏻👊🙌🏻

Adult class reaction warm up then straight into ippon kumite but multidirectional to work on turning quickly to defend multiple attackers, tonight was split group after this with the ladies wanting more kata with libby !!!!

The gents then kept on ramping the kumite up to some great techniques and actually starting to feel what it’s like to recieve good controlled techniques.

Good laugh whilst training strong - how it should be 🤣

well what a full day for gradings ! from 8am to 3:30 and an amazing 38 students graded and all passed.

Our white belts were super awesome , well behaved and nice and quiet during each others kata etc. This lot going to be great !

Juniors again a hard grading with techniques beyond their ages but not heir grades. great dedication and practising past few months paid off

Seniors - this is a hard grading for sure, hats off to poppy and Adam for doing the grading above them also, not an easy task.

All looked good in kumite and first grading for a few, so can be nervous but none showed it as we fight in class so everyone is prepared.

It was our Joy to watch you all and look forward to next stages.

Anyone wants to tag themselves into here showing new belts feel free 👍🏻

Another great 1:1 kata session Tameside Karate with Julian Mallalieu for Libby Dodd and myself with libby’s favourite kata Papuren (yes the long one 😂). Hand muscles this morning have there own biceps through that hand tension.

There are kata experts then there’s julian’s unrivalled knowledge as the detail and cross referencing and differences between styles and completion versions is insane knowledge. If you get chance to attend one of julian’s classes in staleybridge or ashton or even at gorton club with Daniel Corbet do so as you’ll leave inspired and better for doing so. 🙌🏻🥋🙌🏻

Our Adults session tonight we drilled and drilled basic combinations for basics working on techniques.

Also some ju ippon kumite for grading requirements

Kata obviously - of which they all seem to love 🤷‍♂️, good to see they all help each other weekly. Blackbelts went though there next Dan kata along with some jiyu ippon advanced defences.

Great turn out - and when all return from holiday it’s going to be a packed busy class. 🙌

Last run in now before grading day, in our junior class we split the class and focused on last minute kata improvements.

I have to say sometimes you have to stop and look twice as we have students of different grades and ages and we can see massive improvements not in their karate, but confidence is buoyant , those that struggled with press ups/ sit ups are boxing them off easier now. Sometimes it just clicks after a while and starts to become second nature, and great for us to see their growth. 👊🥋👊

It’s Bank Holiday this Monday, but our sessions are still on as grading very soon, so get those important lessons in and see you then ! or tonight 🥋
