I won the legends catagory of a boulder competition this weekend and I had a fantastic time.
Apparently, the fact that Iโm a 51-year-old woman, who power screamed on the crux of my hardest boulder was seen as โembarrassing.โ
Interesting.
Because when men are loud, intense and competitive in sport, itโs respected.
I refuse to shrink myself into something smaller just to make men comfortable.
I am allowed to take up space.
I am allowed to be powerful.
And I am allowed to try hard publicly.

Our new holds are here!! A huge thankyou to the parents who contributed so generously. Keeping my squad challenged on a 7m vertical wall takes some doing! I've got 5 students climbing between 7b and 8a, which makes it super hard to keep things interesting.
I'm hoping these devilish dual tex flathold damage control holds, will do the trick.
Massive thanks to Matt for helping me get the order just right.

One of the greatest pleasures of my job is watching relationships develop between my trainee coaches and students.
Esme has grown in skill and confidence with her coaching, and my students really value her input. Really good job Esme. ๐

Happy International Women's Day. I am continuously inspired by the power of wonderful women on the climbing. ๐
Thankyou for the awesome poster.

Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions. It's a great course for both climbers and coaches looking at the basic movements of climbing.

Toby and I are having the most fantastic week bouldering in Albarracin. It's frosty and sunny, making it perfect conditions for climbing. The rock is incredibly grippy, and has a huge variety of features to play on.
Toby loves competing, but I want to give him as broad a base of climbing experience as possible. It's been such a healthy and positive experience for him, hopefully instilling a love of outdoor climbing for the rest of his life.
