Preparing Your SEND Child for the New School Year
As the new school year approaches, it's normal to feel a mix of excitement and anxiety—especially when you're preparing your SEND child for the changes ahead. Whether they’re starting a new class or transitioning to a new school, it’s important to support them every step of the way. 💛
🗓️ Start Early: Begin talking about the upcoming school year and create a visual schedule to help them understand what to expect.
👕 Manage Sensory Issues: Practice wearing the school uniform at home and make any necessary adjustments for comfort, such as removing tags or choosing soft fabrics.
🧘♀️ Teach Calm-Down Techniques: Equip your child with simple strategies they can use when feeling overwhelmed, like deep breathing or using a favourite sensory toy.
🤗 Visit the School: If possible, visit the school beforehand to help your child become familiar with the environment and meet their teacher.
Remember, your love, patience, and understanding are the most important tools in helping your child feel confident and ready for the school year ahead. Together, we can make this transition as smooth as possible. 🌈

My frames arrived today from Amazon, I wanted to get gold A4 frames so that they matched the beautiful gold embossed logo on my certificates from The Coaching Masters
Am so proud of what I have accomplished this year, from my statement in January saying that 2024 would be my year and it’s certainly proving to be just that!

Wait where did February, March, April, May, June and July go???
I was only just getting through the longest January ever and now I can’t believe it’s August 1st already!
Well the weather has been beautiful and looks like it’s going to continue to be hot for the next couple of weeks so enjoy the sunshine, if you’ve got holidays booked, create the best memories and love, laugh and live 💖

We see everyone talking about mindset and how you can do anything and everything you put your mind to, you just need to believe in yourself…..
Now whilst I agree you can do anything, you can’t do everything…
Now what I mean is, you can absolutely do anything you put your mind to, but you can do everything, being a mum, wife, referee, cook, cleaner, managing disabilities and children with disabilities is a lot and if you are trying to do it all and have a dream or running your own business, the only thing you will end up with……is burnout!
So take a moment to look at what you can delegate to family members or colleagues, write a list of priorities and start taking some self care time so that you aren’t running around doing everything and don’t take any time for you 🫶🏼
