ABC: The Hidden Link Between Sales & Hypnosis š„
Did you know Sales and Hypnosis are far more similar than most people think?
In Sales, weāre taught ABC: Always Be Closing.
In Hypnosis, we say ABC: Always Be Calibrating.
Two different worlds.
One shared psychology. š§
Hereās the crossover:
š„ In Sales, getting that first no isnāt rejection itās strategy.
It kickstarts the process of elimination.
Once someone says no, it becomes psychologically harder for them to say no again.
Thatās classic sales psychology at work.
š« In Hypnosis, we do the opposite we gather early yeses.
These yeses build rapport, trust, and complianceā¦
Exactly the same foundations that make a sales close feel natural instead of forced.
Whether youāre guiding a client into trance or guiding a prospect toward a decision, the principle is identical:
⨠Calibrate the yeses.
⨠Neutralise the nos.
⨠Lead with confidence.
So remember:
Always Be Closing.
Always Be Calibrating.
Always Be Conscious of the psychology in play.

š„ The Mind Is a Trickster Forgive Yourself & Start Again
Last year I helped a husband and wife stop smoking.
Nine months later, I bumped into the wife and asked how she was getting on.
She looked down and said,
āI started again⦠I felt so bad. I couldnāt stop.ā
I told her something most people never hear:
āYou were a non smoker for nine months. That identity is still in you.
Forgive yourself for being a bit of a plonker⦠your mind tricked you.
Start again right now in this present moment.ā
Because thatās what the mind does.
It plays tricks.
It whispers guilt, shame, failure.
And when we donāt understand those emotions, we numb them smoking, drinking, eating, scrolling, whatever your version is.
But hereās the truth:
You donāt overcome an addictive behaviour by punishing yourself.
You overcome it by forgiving yourself and stepping back into the identity you want.
Just like a professional boxerā¦
A world champion doesnāt become a world champion on the night they win the belt.
They become a world champion the moment they project themselves into the future and live that identity in the present.
Itās the same with smoking.
The same with drinking.
The same with any habit youāre trying to break.
You donāt wait for the result to call yourself a non smoker.
You decide youāre a non smoker now and your behaviour follows that identity.
Project yourself into the future.
Live it in the present.
Start again today.

Movie Mindfulness š¬š§
Some people sit cross legged in silence on a mountain retreat.
Me?
I go watch a movie š„ .
Because hereās the truth:
Pride is one of the mindās oldest tricks.
And if youāre not paying attention, it will hypnotise you.
Cus DāAmato said it best:
āThe mind is not your friend. I hope you know that.ā
Mike Tyson lived that lesson.
War films are a perfect example.
Directors know exactly how to pull the strings of our pride the music, the speeches, the slow motion hero shots. The affirmations !
Before you know it, youāre feeling a surge of emotion that looks like confidenceā¦
ā¦but it isnāt.
Pride and confidence feel similar.
But one gets you killed.
The other keeps you alive.
Pride is a trick of the mind.
Confidence is vulnerability ā¦
Pride is detrimental to your healthā¦
And Iām not saying pride in your country is wrong. And Iām not saying, you shouldnāt be proud of your achievements in life.. itās good to celebrate wins and successes.
Iām not saying soldiers shouldnāt exist we need people who protect us.
But we must recognise when weāre being emotionally steered, whether by a film, a leader, or our own ego.
That moment when you catch yourself being tricked?
Thatās mindfulness.
When you can laugh at your own ego or pride thatās emotional intelligence
when you can say, āAh, there it is againā¦ā
youāre no longer controlled by it.
Mindfulness isnāt always meditation cushions and incense.
Sometimes itās noticing your own mind while watching a war movie.
Confidence is laughing at yourself your pride your egoā¦
Pride is your egoā¦
Mindfulness is the difference.

Morning Mindfulness. Road Rage Addition
Ever noticed how one driver cutting you up can turn you from Zen monk to raging Viking in 0.4 seconds?
Yeah⦠same.
But hereās the fun part: itās not the event that fires us up, itās the belief we attach to it.
Most of us go straight to the unhealthy belief:
āThey shouldnāt have cut me up!ā
Which then triggers the three horsemen of emotional chaos:
⢠Damnation (āWhat an idiot!ā)
⢠Catastrophising (āThis whole day is ruined nowā¦ā)
⢠Low frustration tolerance (āI canāt deal with this!ā)
And boom anxiety, anger, tension, the whole emotional fireworks display.
But there is another route.
A healthier belief sounds more like:
āIād have preferred they didnāt cut me up⦠but maybe theyāre distracted, stressed, elderly, late, or just human.ā
From that belief, we get the three attitudes of emotional intelligence:
⢠Acceptance
⢠High frustration tolerance
⢠Antiācatastrophising
And instead of rage, what shows up?
A bit of annoyance, maybe some concern, and then⦠peace.
š§āāļø The key to switching from unhealthy to healthy belief?
Rationalisation, the mindful kind.
Itās the moment you pause, breathe, and choose a more forgiving explanation.
Not excusing the behaviour.
Just refusing to hand over your emotional steering wheel.
And yes, we all get ātrickedā sometimes.
Weāre human.
But forgiveness, even tiny, everyday forgiveness, is emotional intelligence in action.
So hereās your Morning Mindfulness reminder:
Next time someone cuts you up, imagine theyāre rushing to a āSave the Worldā meeting.
Forgive, rationalise, breatheā¦
And enjoy the rest of your day without carrying someone elseās chaos.

šÆ Rewiring Fear, How Hypnosis Helps People Break Free from Enmetophobia
Enmetophobia the fear of vomiting is one of the most misunderstood phobias out there š¤Æ. Yet recently Iāve seen a noticeable rise in people reaching out for help with it.
One client came to me because every time he felt stressed or anxious, his mind jumped straight to āIām going to be sick.ā That single fear spiralled until it became generalised anxiety disorder not to mention the distress of throwing up constantly š.
Through hypnosis, we focused on calming his nervous system, rewiring the fear response, and rebuilding his internal sense of safety. Session by session, his confidence grew and his world opened up again š.
My favourite moment?
He ended up on the scrimmage chatting to Rob Butler about Norwich City something heād avoided for years because anxiety always shut him down ā½š¬.
