This Saturday, I had the pleasure of teaching at the Wolterton Wellness Weekend. It was such an incredible experience, and I felt truly grateful to share Balanced Soul Yoga with so many wonderful people.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along—I hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did. The event was filled with an amazing variety of wellbeing offerings, creating a really special atmosphere from start to finish.

I also took my lovely mum along with me, and it was lovely to spend some quality time together while enjoying such a beautiful day.

A massive well done to the organisers and everyone involved for putting together such a fantastic event. Your hard work and dedication made it a truly memorable experience.

The last few weeks have been wonderfully busy! I’ve enjoyed lots of lovely birthday celebrations, and behind the scenes we’ve been working very hard to prepare for the launch of The Soul Sauna, which opens tomorrow 😃😃🥳🥳 (a little cheeky plug here! The booking link is at the end of the post 😉).

As a result, I’ve definitely felt like I’ve been chasing my tail at times… trying to fit everything in, taking on more than I can comfortably manage and attempting to be a good mum, wife, daughter and friend all at once.

I know I’m not alone in feeling this way, and that life can sometimes feel a little overwhelming when things get particularly hectic.

Because of this, my personal yoga practice has been more sporadic than I would like. But yoga takes many different forms. While there is the asana practice, the physical movement that helps prepare and settle the mind for meditation, that is only one part of yoga.

Over the last few weeks, my practice has been much more focused on meditation and on the way I speak to myself in everyday life. It’s been about noticing how I interpret my feelings and emotions when things feel overwhelming and trying to respond with kindness…both towards myself and others.

In yogic philosophy, this is known as Ahimsa, or non-violence.

When life feels overwhelming, yoga offers us the opportunity to pause, reflect and ask whether there might be another way to respond. I certainly don’t get this right all the time (I am a Gemini, hormonal, and a parent after all! 😂), but taking even a few moments of calm before reacting can create valuable space for reflection.

We won’t always choose the calmest path, but simply having that awareness means the option is there.

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week, and I look forward to seeing you on the mat / sauna soon!!

Let’s talk Mudras…

Mudras, often called “yoga for the hands” are specific hand gestures used to help direct energy within the body. They’ve been used for thousands of years in yoga, meditation and Ayurveda to influence our physical, mental and emotional state.

But there’s science behind them too!

Each mudra creates subtle neurological feedback through the hands (which have a huge connection to the brain).

Different finger positions can help regulate the nervous system, improve focus, support breath awareness and encourage certain energetic responses in the body. Tiny movements… powerful effects.

I tend to weave a different mudra into each series depending on the theme we’re working with.

This series is all about VITALITY

So we’re working with Kali Mudra… a powerful gesture associated with strength, transformation, courage and awakening energy. It’s believed to help stimulate inner fire, release stagnant energy and create a feeling of empowerment and motivation… exactly the vibe we’re cultivating this block. 🔥

Although… in class it has apparently earned the nickname:
“the front cover pose of a budget Charlie’s Angels remake” 🤣 (see photo 3 for reference!!) Honestly, I can’t unsee it now!!

But jokes aside, mudras are powerful because they give the mind something physical to connect to. They create intention, anchor focus and shift energy. When combined with movement and breathwork, they can completely change how a practice feels.

Happy Friday from Balanced Soul! 🧡🧘‍♀️🙏☀️

06/05/2026

So here I am, playing in a handstand away from the wall and hitting my longest hold yet and honestly, I’m so chuffed about it!!

This month’s series is all about inner fire … vitality, strength, that spark that keeps you going and this pose feels like all of that wrapped into one.

Handstand practice humbles me every single time… progress isn’t linear, and it’s taken months to reach this point.
But it’s a shape that always lights a fire within and keeps me evolving!
