UEA Panthers Men's Basketball Club 2020/21

The Taster session today has been POSTPONED due to the new government COVID-19 guidelines for Indoor Team sports that have come into effect today!

With Welcome Week just around the corner, here is the information for the events we have planned for it!
The taster sessions are favoured for freshers however, if you are a returner that would like to get into basketball message us and there might be space for you!
For the trials, there are 2 or 3 spots available for NBL/1st team, 6 spots for 2nd team, and 14 spots for 3rd team. Don’t worry if you are not selected at trials, you will be directed towards a development pathway from which you can be recruited from at any time!
Please sign up for these events on the UEA SU website. This is for track and trace purposes! The DSD Taster sessions are FREE but the trials are £3.
Head to www.uea.su hover over ‘your events’ and click ‘all events’ and search for the events as they are written on the picture below!

Our club is extremely excited to announce that we will be entering a team into Division 3 (East) of the NBL next season! More information regarding recruitment will be posted shortly. Words cannot describe what the entire Panthers team are feeling right now. Many of us grew up watching this man idolising him both on and off the court. His game inspired so many of us and his mentality was something we shall continue to aspire to. The thoughts and prayers of the entire Panthers team goes to his friends and family at this difficult time. Let us also not forget his daughter that was also lost to this tragedy. Their spirits, impact on our lives and the sport that we love so dearly shall live on in hearts forever 🐍💛💜

🏀🗣️ ROUND UP TIME!!!

Both teams began their BUCS competition last week and both teams got off to an amazing start!

The first team had a very impressive win. After they took the lead in the first they never looked back ultimately winning the game by an impressive 28 point margin. Player of the game honours go to for an impressive performance on both ends of the court.

The seconds also had an amazing game ultimately winning by 20 points after being down down 15 points at the end of the first. What an impressive comeback! Player of the game honours goes to for being instrumental part in the comeback effort.

In the local leagues only second team played last week. They once again suffered a tough loss but still had a very impressive performance in a tougher League and we expect them to only get better as the season progresses. Special shoutout to Win Tze Poh for his great effort throughout the game earning him player of the game honours.

The NBA is back this week and the Panthers have a jam packed week to celebrate 🎉🏀.

We will be having a members only fantasy league. To join simply download the ESPN fantasy league app and DM us! (The draft for the leauge will be Tuesday at 7pm).

We will also be holding a sweepstakes. Entry is £2 and if your team make the final 4 you'll win a prize. This is open to all, simply DM us if you want to take part (closing date is TBC).

Next up join us on Wednesday for our "rep your team" sports night come have fun and represent. Paid members can than join us afterwards to watch the opening night game (Lakers v Clippers) and pizza!
