Yesterday, we held the annual Bluebird Ski Day of Fun, which included 4ft jumping (max speed 40kph), trick skiing (or tricks on a different piece of equipment) and half and 3/4 course slalom skiing on anything but a slalom ski!

We had over 40 tows with members and friends getting out on the water to have a bit of fun and try something new.

This year, we added a team element to the competition and a team relay. This included running the half course at 40kph, followed by a land portion which included going through hoops, hopscotch and throwing the Disney character into a bucket before swimming out to pass the baton to the next team member!

The day also included a raffle, where Β£182 was raised for Pancreatic Cancer UK through Ben’s London Marathon 2026 campaign - https://2026tcslondonmarathon.enthuse.com/pf/ben-davies

Yesterday, we celebrated the 60th anniversary of Bluebird Deaf Waterski Club πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰

We had a fantastic day with lots of past and current members including some of the founding members, who all enjoyed either participating, catching up with friends, watching or just eating cake.

Thank you to everyone for coming and making the day a great success!

Had a lovely message from Diana Rowlands this afternoon, we spotted a group in fab new T-shirts, who turned out to be Bluebird Runners, a group of friends who are slightly competitive.. but very supportive! They mostly know each other from waterskiing and socialising but decided to add running to the mix, after 2 of the group ran the London Marathon last year (and one is taking on the challenge next week!). They're officially 'Non-Official' but thought it would be fun to get some t-shirts made up! We enjoyed being hosts for their inaugural run with their new kit, they had a fab morning!

We had over 30 tows with members and friends getting out of the water to have a bit of fun and try something new - we even had two new jumpers, Elly and Josh who both successfully landed jumps for the first time! Alasdair also landed a 20.4m jump!

The day ended with the medal ceremony and awarding of personal best prizes, of which there were a lot in the younger age categories, as well as a certain British Trick Record being broken! It was also an opportunity to thank all the officials, judges and drivers and all the spectators, who braved the torrential downpours with good humour and hung on to the gazebo for dear life when it almost took off into the sky like a giant balloon 🎈 Finally, a huge, gigantic thank you goes out to all our amazing members without whom the Competition would not have been possible and whilst there are too many to name we hope you know how much your hard work over the past months/weeks/days, as well as on the day itself is genuinely appreciated - you all deserve medals! πŸ€©πŸŽ–οΈπŸ€©
