The credit goes the the cameraman (often my mum) who has the patience to stand there whilst I mess up my words 100 times 😇 (My mum is basically the mum from mean girls, but instead of dancing, she is saying the words with me 😂😂)

Being camera shy and dyslexic isn’t the best combo 😂

If you’re looking to start exercising but don’t want to go to the gym, let me introduce you to Nordic walking.

Nordic walking is so much more than simply walking with poles - it’s a brilliant full body activity that can help improve fitness, strength, balance and confidence, all while enjoying the great outdoors🌳✨

Stop practising bad habits ❌

I asked my mum her thoughts on the Friday technique class.

Watch to see what she had to say!

No matter how long you’ve been Nordic walking, it’s easy for little bad habits to creep in without you realising. A few simple technique tweaks can make your walking more efficient, improve posture, reduce strain and help you get even more from every walk.

That’s exactly what our Friday Technique Class is for. It’s not just for beginners, it’s for anyone who wants to move better and get the most out of their poles.

Come along, refresh your technique, ask questions and leave feeling more confident.

Wondering what actually happens during a 1:1 Nordic Walking Physio appointment?

It’s much more than learning how to use poles.

Every appointment is tailored to you and combines physiotherapy assessment with expert Nordic walking instruction, giving you the confidence and knowledge to move better from day one.

During your appointment we’ll:
✔️ Complete a personalised assessment
✔️ Measure your baseline using appropriate outcome measures
✔️ Fit and adjust your Nordic walking poles
✔️ Teach the INWA 10-Step Method with video analysis
✔️ Summarise your findings and discuss the best next steps
✔️ Provide home exercises and physiotherapy advice where appropriate

Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing a long-term condition, improving balance or simply wanting to walk more efficiently, your session is designed around your goals.

Balance is something we often take for granted… until it starts to decline.

Good balance is essential for everyday activities like walking, climbing stairs, getting out of a chair and reducing your risk of falls. The good news? Balance can be improved with the right exercises.

That’s why we include balance training in every Nordic walking session - whether it’s during our warm-up, maintenance walks, rehab sessions or 1:1 assessments.

In this reel, I’m demonstrating the 4-Stage Balance Test, a simple assessment I use to understand someone’s current balance and help tailor exercises to their individual needs.

Why not give it a try?

👇 Comment below with the highest stage you reached: 1, 2, 3 or 4.

⚠️ Please only attempt the test if it’s safe for you to do so. Stand near a sturdy surface for support if needed!!

Did you know? 👀 Nordic walking increases oxygen consumption and raises your heart rate more than ‘normal’ walking without necessarily feeling harder
