Scott Cossey has made a fantastic start to his very tricky Norfolk Syndicate campaign.

With limited fishing time available, Scott has had to stay one step ahead. By putting huge effort into watercraft and fine detail, he’s been able to spend minimal time on the lake — yet still stay consistently on the fish.

Maximising every hour with the rods out has already resulted in two spring captures, at a time when the lake has been extremely busy and the fishing particularly challenging.

A rarely caught small ghostie and a stunning mid-30 mirror prove that sometimes less really does lead to more.

Like many of us balancing work and family life, Scott has adapted the mindset of “less hours, more effort, more captures.”

Long-time Pursuit friend and MnM fan, Andy Nights, recently enjoyed an action-packed session at Norton Disney…

Approaching this fantastic complex as one big venue, rather than focusing on a single lake, Andy stayed mobile and hunted out feeding fish in less-pressured areas — a tactic that paid off in style.

Across five days, he racked up over 20 carp, with fish to the upper 30lb mark. In fact, when we caught up with Andy, he’d lost track of the exact tally — too busy slipping fish back and picking up another screaming rod!

A steady approach of MnM boilie and maize, applied little and often in a tight area (very much a match-style tactic), kept the bites coming consistently throughout the session.

Top angling, “Nightsy” — you might not get out as often these days, but it’s clear you’ve still got the watercraft and a sharp eye for it 👏😉

More Billingford Fishing Lakes action for Ryan Gardiner.

Ryan arrived at the lake after work on Friday evening, he only had till 10am the next morning so needed to make it happen. The lake was busy and the fishing had been slow, so he decided to walk the lake well into darkness, to see if he could find an opportunity for a bite. Finally he set two traps in an area with slightly less angler pressure, where he had seen signs of fish movement.
With two solid bags set, and a light scattering of boilie at the base of a marginal shelf in deeper silt, he settled in and relaxed for the night.

Shortly after first light the left hand rod was away with an upper 20 common, an hour later the other rod was away, this time he was rewarded with an upper 20 mirror.

15 hours on the lake and a brace of upper 20’s, plus back home before 10am!

Recent success for Norfolk-based angler Will Mayes…

After missing much of early spring due to a house move, Will returned to the bank and picked up right where he left off.

Five nights in late April, combined with 10kg of 18mm MnM, resulted in an impressive 8 captures — including 2 x 40lb carp.

Timing really is everything, and as they say… 40s are like buses!

The bites came to orange MnM wafters, fished over a well-spread bed of 18s.
