Action from the game saturday

What a start from falcons, going two up after just ten minutes to be pegged back at half time after dragons recovered well with a great comeback.

Second half saw the Dragons take control as falcons couldn't get into their stride of how they started the game and dragons went on to win the game in what was a sporting game played in the right manner. Emphasised when nunber 13 came to an abrupt halt when challenged by falcons 'gentle giant' Dom 🤔😍🥰🤣

Player of the match for dragons was number 8 who scored, assisted another and showed hood footwork throughout the game.

Player for falcons was Rowen who put in a solid performance in the center of defence.

A post about good coaching... This is what grassroots is all about ⤵

"The Speech Nobody Heard"

'The match was lost before it even kicked off. Half the squad looked like they’d been up all night on the Xbox. One was in tears over a school fallout. The other team showed up in matching tracksuits and warmed up like a pro academy.

First half: 5-0 down.

At halftime, the parents muttered about throwing in the towel. But the coach? He didn’t rant. He didn’t throw cones. He knelt down in the mud and spoke so quietly, even the assistant had to lean in.

No tactics. No charts. Just this: “You’re more than this scoreline. Football’s about who shows up when it’s hard. Go out there and show me that side of you.”
Second half? They still lost. 6-2. But it felt like a win.

That coach — the one who turns up after work, plans sessions at 10pm, gives lifts to kids with no way to training — he won something bigger that day: respect, effort, belief. And no one even clapped.

But that’s grassroots coaching. You don’t do it for the cheers. You do it because you believe these kids are more than a result.'

“Shoutout to my beautiful son Kayden... he started playing football at the age of 6 but the team he played for told him he wasn't good enough for the team, so I set a team up to a few months later to help him get his confidence back, this is his 3rd season and this weekend he scored his 1st ever goal, we as a team were so pleased for him that parents and players copied his celebration. Well done Kayden! 1 proud dad. ❤️❤️”

Go on son 👏

No games this weekend so back on a recruitment drive to expand this amazing league for all ages 🥰😎😍
Share, share and share some more, lets get word out.

Good afternoon,

My name is Paul, and I've recently taken on the role of Vice Chairman of the Inspiration League — a unique development league supporting grassroots football teams across Norfolk and Suffolk.

When my son first joined a local football team, we quickly discovered how intense Sunday league football could be. Our very first match ended in a humbling 28–0 defeat. The rest of the season followed a similar pattern. While we managed to finish fourth from bottom, the experience was tough on the players — some even considered walking away from the game altogether.

That all changed when we joined the Inspiration League — a league created to nurture confidence, enjoyment, and skill development in a more supportive environment. Unlike traditional leagues, results aren't published, and the focus is on learning, improving, and most importantly, loving the game.

Since joining, our team has thrived. Confidence, performance, and enthusiasm have grown immensely. Some players have even gone on to rejoin the Sunday leagues stronger than ever. The league also proudly includes children with SEN and welcomes players of all backgrounds and abilities.

Currently, the Inspiration League caters to ages 13 and up — but we’re planning something much bigger.

We're now looking to expand the league to include all children aged 7–16, starting from the 2026–27 season. Our goal is to create five age groups (7–8, 9–10, 11–12, 13-14 and 15-16), providing every child a chance to build confidence, get valuable game time, and fall in love with football — whether they're just starting or looking for a different kind of playing experience.

To get things underway, we’re starting early so we can organise friendlies, assess team levels, and build balanced leagues — avoiding one-sided matches that can discourage young players from continuing.

If you know of any teams — or even individual players — who would benefit from this environment, please get in touch or point them our way. We’re here to give every child a chance to enjoy the beautiful game at their own pace.

Warm regards,
Paul

Corton on welcoming dragons on saturday :

Our thriller was a game of good spirits all round, some very good football played by both teams,
corton went behind early on, but managed to dust themselves and got back into the game amd led at half time.

In the 2nd half it was pure chaos to say the least 🤣 cringleford equalised, then between both teams six goals were scored.

With a few minutes left a big mix up at the back with the corton defence left it wide open for cringleford to run through and nick a winner at the end.
Phew...what a game!! 😘😍

Overall a fantastic game of football with a great bunch of coaches and players,
great determination strength and courage by both teams today I've not witnessed a game like that for ages and I can honestly say I'd take games like that everyday of the week it was great to watch 👏👏👏 well done cringleford

And a word from dragons as they got their breath back :

I simply couldn't take anymore after the game, I was a nervous wreck with no voice left. what a game and an advert for the inspiration league well done and played both sides Corton and Cringleford Dragons 😍🥰

Ravens on saturdays game :

In our game saturday we had goals, drama, and the odd tantrum.
With Ravens storming to an early lead, before SYEP got one back. Ravens eventually going in at half time in front
The second half was end to end, with both teams coming close but the second half deadlock was broken with both teams scoring late on with the Ravens coming out winning the game.
A truly amazing game

Stalham on saturdays game :

Saturday we welcomed St Faiths over to Stalham.

A fairly even game to start with Stalham having a few chances that weren’t taken mainly due to the St Faiths keeper who stood firm.

It was St Faiths that took the lead half way through the first half with a well taken goal after some good build up play. Stalham quickly got themselves back into it scoring an equaliser not long after the kick off.

Stalham went on to get a second to take the lead. It was then St Faiths turn to equalise, pe***ng us back level. Stalham then grabbed one just before half time to lead into the break.

Second half was pretty much the same start as the first half with some good football from both sides. Stalham went on to score another three goals with some being some good build up play and finishes, but never taking St Faiths for granted who always looked dangerous on the break.

Stalham eventually came out on top in an enjoyable game played in great spirit.

St Faiths are a great addition to the league, great coaches, players and parents. We look forward to the reverse fixture.
