Carp Fishing Trips has just returned from a trip to Iktus Ruffaud.
It was very slow at first with no signs of a carp anywhere near my swim. Thursday morning came around and I could see some movement around my left-hand rod that was positioned near the mouth of a bay. Nothing happened all day but I could still see the odd movement along the margin of the bay. Just as Alison put my dinner on the plate the left-hand rod line went slack. i picked up the rod and lifted into the fish that tried desperately to make the snags. I managed to turn it away from there leaving only the monument (that is in the lake about 15ft from the bank) as the only danger. The carp tried very hard to take me around the monument and it tested my tackle to the limit, i eventually turned it back into open water and after a while, it was in my landing net. A 62lb+ mirror was the reward. I had 3 more carp that night and lost one to a hook pull. Nothing happened on Friday until it got dark when i had 4 more carp unto 40lbs.
