The park is open!

Please be aware we are arranging to remove some fencing from the park as it is too dangerous. This will likely impact children playing in the park while others may be on the football field as there will be no barrier behind the goal. We will be looking to replace this quickly and ask that you bear with us.

3 years ago the committee was debating how we might open the new park in a lockdown...risk assessments completed, we used some of our funding to print COVID related signage. Being able to access the park that year was a game changer to relying on the local community differently. The park is bigger than it was with much more choice and today, we took those signs down!

Thanks for continuing to take care of our awesome play area!

So excited to have some new additions to the park! It's all been inspected and is ready to play. Thanks NGF Play for a fantastic service. A huge thanks too for the funding from Aviva, Norfolk Community Fund and Tarmac. We hope you all enjoy using it.

A huge thank you to Andy Cranmer for helping the Playpark Committee out today. He's removing a log for us ready for the new equipment to go in this week!

Please remember that the park is closed for the rest of the week whilst the new equipment is installed. We can't wait!

PARK CLOSURE UPDATE!🥳🙌
We have new funding which means new equipment in the play park and a separate 'hang out hut' for young people adjacent to the tennis courts 👏👏
Our committee co-chair Rebecca was relentless last year in bidding to create a more inclusive space with more choices for play.
She truly knocked it out of the park! 🏆

The park will need to close between the 5th and 12th September to enable the contractor to safely complete the works.

Please bear with us and share the update with friends and family 👍

*The case of the mysterious bin*

Are any Brooke residents able to help the committee with clues as to how this bin got here and who is responsible for emptying it? 😂😂 We haven't seen it before and have not been advised that anyone has organised for a regular bin collection. We're also really keen to minimize anything that could attract wasps!
Feel free to private message us if you know 👍

UPDATE TO PARK USERS:
Regular users to Brooke park may have spotted the 'human made' gap in the hedgerow near the combine harvester. Children and young people like to explore the adjacent garden and as a committee of volunteers, policing this activity would not ever be a realistic option.

I'm pleased to tell you that we have spoken to the owners who are more than happy for children and young people to explore at leisure. What they have requested is that users continue to respect the land and access it in a safe way.

Our role is to make sure we take all reasonable steps to ensure safe access to the park equipment. We still rely on parents and carers supervising how this equipment is used and we will continue to try and make improvements to the facilities available to you. Please see the next update on our recent fundraising triumph!

**Edit** access to the adjacent farmland is still prohibited

Thanks for reading.

Brooke Playpark - fund raising 13/09/2021

We have raised an incredible £1825 so far - thanks so much to everyone who has donated. We have just 7 days left so a final call for anyone who wants to donate or anyone who works at Aviva to please use their donation to vote for us! Thank you

Brooke Playpark - fund raising 💛 We'd love a "hang out hut" for older children to safely socialise together away from the rain! We'd also like to add a bit more to our park.

Brooke Playpark - fund raising 18/08/2021

Would you believe that we have all been enjoying the playpark for over a year now? And we are thrilled to see it so well used. We want to make sure we continue to evolve it and meet the needs of local children and families. So, to take advantage of the amazing Aviva community fund, we are starting a new wave of fundraising. See the link below and if you are an Aviva employee, every member of staff gets £25 to donate so please consider donating to us!! Many thanks, the Playpark Committee
