Paul would have been 70 today and no doubt we’d have celebrated by having a couple of beers and sharing wonderful memories.

Forever young and never forgotten by King George FC.

It’s been five years since we said ‘Farewell’ to our great friend Paul ‘PA’ Athow.
So many wonderful memories to cherish, both on and off the pitch!
Forever young and never forgotten by King George FC.

Three years have now passed since our good friend Glen Preston left us, but his memory continues to bring a smile to our faces.
No doubt he has met up with his other great team members: Paul Athow, John McInally and Steve Hatch who, like Glen, will always be with us in spirit.
Forever Young and Never Forgotten.
King George FC.

Here is a cutting from 'The Northern Whig' (Irish newspaper) from September 5th 1951 showing the 'Welsh League' team outside their Belfast Hotel just before going to play the 'Irish League'. Cliffie Birch is seated, second right and is also seen in the second photo touching the cannon. Cliffie represented the 'Welsh League' twice that year.
