🚴 RIDE WITH AN OLYMPIC CHAMPION 🥇

Three-time Olympic champion and CAMS ambassador Ed Clancy is joining us at Tour de Broads on Sunday 6 September, alongside our event partners CAMS!

This is your chance to ride with one of Britain’s most successful cyclists and be part of an unforgettable day on the bike.

Ed will also be meeting riders in the CAMS area, bringing along his Olympic gold medals and helping us present finisher medals after the ride.

Whether you share the road out on the route or meet him at the finish, this is an opportunity you won’t get at every sportive!

⚡ WOW… WHAT A TURNOUT! ⚡

Round 5 of the GYCC Speed League welcomed an incredible 33 riders to Herringfleet, including 10 new female riders making their league debuts!

It was fantastic to see so many new faces on the start line and more women being given the confidence and opportunity to experience time trialling in a friendly, supportive environment.

A huge well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to all of our category winners. Special congratulations go to Mark Richards and Abi Bremner, who claimed the overall male and female victories on the night! 🏆

Thank you to Hashtag Coaching for their brilliant support in helping us make Round 5 such a success.

⚡ FOUR ROUNDS DOWN. TWO TO GO. ⚡

From a brutal windy opener to PBs tumbling in Round 2, close battles in Round 3 and the road bikes taking over in Round 4, the first GYCC Speed League has already delivered plenty of action so far!

The overall standings couldn’t be much tighter:

🥇 Mark Richards - DAP: 123 points
🥈 Gavin Stock - GYCC: 122 points
🥉 Adam Glover - GYCC: 110 points

Jordan McWilton, Tom Moore and Stephen Brown are also locked together on 108 points, meaning we currently have a 3-way tie for the Club Category lead! So there is still everything to race for!

Round 5 takes place this Thursday, 13 August, with a special focus on encouraging more female riders to get involved.

Together with Hashtag Coaching and Her Time Project, we want to help raise the profile of women in cycling, break down barriers to entry and give more women the confidence to try time trialling in a friendly and supportive environment.

You don’t need a TT bike, previous racing experience or to be chasing the fastest time. Our unique points system rewards participation, personal improvement, achieving a target speed, finishing position and more.

Everyone remains welcome at Round 5, but we would especially love our existing riders to encourage a female friend, teammate or clubmate to come along and have a go!
