📍A Route Worth Riding
Yesterday, Neil headed out on a final recce of the 50-mile Pedal Suffolk & PedalRetro route, taking in some of his favourite spots along the way. From picture-perfect Suffolk villages and historic landmarks to quiet country lanes and stunning countryside views, this route really showcases the very best of Suffolk.
Following Neil’s feedback, we’ve made a few final tweaks and refinements to ensure this year’s route is even better than before. We’ve kept all the rider-favourite sections from last year while adding some fresh roads and new points of interest that we think you’re going to love.
“Every year we try to make the routes a little bit better, and I genuinely think this is going to be hard to beat! If you’re looking for a ride that puts a smile on your face from start to finish, this is it.” – Neil
With the latest forecast looking warm, dry and sunny for festival weekend, conditions are shaping up perfectly for a fantastic day on the bike. ☀️🚴
Join us at Pedal Suffolk Festival on 27-28 June and experience it for yourself. Why not ride both days and tackle our Untamed - Suffolk gravel adventure on the Sunday too!
🎟️ Entries remain open, but don’t leave it too late.

PEDAL SUFFOLK FACES 🚴
For this edition of Pedal Suffolk Faces, we're shining a spotlight on Robert, a regular rider at TPR Events and a familiar face to many within our cycling community.
Having first discovered club cycling as a schoolboy in the late 1960s, Robert's cycling journey now spans more than five decades. From time trials and club runs to gravel adventures and retro cycling events, bikes have remained a huge part of his life.
Many of you will recognise Robert and his beautifully restored 1968 Hetchins, affectionately known as "Alf", which won Best 1960s Bike at PedalRetro last year. This summer he'll be back at Pedal Suffolk Festival with Alf for PedalRetro before swapping to his titanium Enigma gravel bike for Untamed Suffolk the following day.
When asked what keeps him coming back to TPR Events, Robert's answer was simple: the people.
"The organisation, support and friendliness are second to none. Cycling isn't about speed or competition for me. It's about enjoying the ride, the friendships and staying active."
The Pedal Suffolk Faces series is all about celebrating the riders who make our events what they are. Whether you've ridden alongside Robert at a sportive, chatted with him at a feed stop or admired Alf in the PedalRetro show area, he's a great example of the welcoming community that makes cycling so special.
We look forward to seeing Robert, Alf and plenty of familiar faces at Pedal Suffolk Festival this summer.

The PedalRetro 50 is our most popular retro route at the Pedal Suffolk Festival, and it's easy to see why! 🚴♂️
Starting with its own Grand Départ, riders roll out behind a classic Alfa Romeo team car courtesy of Steve and Elmy Cycles before heading into the Suffolk countryside.
Expect quiet country lanes, picturesque villages, stunning scenery and, of course, the rider-favourite TPR Events feed stops along the way.
PedalRetro forms part of the Pedal Suffolk Festival on 27-28 June at Trinity Park, Ipswich. Alongside the rides, you'll find the FREE PedalRetro Show, Show & Shine competition, Cycle Jumble, live entertainment, camping, special guests Alex Dowsett and Dan Bigham, plus plenty more to enjoy across the weekend.

Supporting the new GYCC Speed League feels like a natural fit for us at TPR Events.
Long before TPR became known for sportives and festivals, a huge part of what we did was centred around community cycling initiatives, grassroots racing and helping people find their place in the sport.
From kids coaching and local racing through to community-focused cycling projects, we’ve always believed cycling becomes stronger when people create opportunities for others to get involved.
In many ways, this project feels like a return to those roots.
In fact, Neil was heavily involved in helping bring the original GYCC TT League back around 15 years ago, so seeing a new evolution of it now is something that means a lot to us personally too.
Because local racing still matters.
Not because we think everyone should suddenly become racers… but because we believe there should still be places where riders can challenge themselves, build confidence and experience that feeling of progression that makes cycling so addictive.
For some riders, this league could be the start of a lifelong journey in the sport.
For others, it might simply be a reason to push themselves a little harder on a summer evening surrounded by good people.
And honestly, both matter.
Most importantly, you do not need to be an elite rider to get involved.
You just need to give it a go 🚴
Just 2 weeks until the league begins.
