Our ladies came out on top last night in what was a close contest in the first round of the Hundred Plate, beating Grimston by 2 runs!

Sim and Charlotte opened the batting and scored a fantastic 40, with Sim hitting five 4s! They were followed by Cecile and Sarah who rotated the strike and between them hit four 4s and two 6s for the loss of 1 wicket, taking the Witches to 277/1 at the halfway stage. Emma and Willow were up third with a couple of 4s and lots of singles, before Yas and Elly took the final slot and picked up plenty of singles to push the total up to 321/1.

We bowled really well and fielded strongly, keeping boundaries to a minimum. A fightback from Grimston in the 2nd half of their innings brought their total up but Elly held her nerve bowling the final over and Grimston finished on 319/2. Charlotte bowled a great 2 overs, allowing only 5 runs and taking a wicket and Emma bowled 3 overs for just 4 runs, and taking the other wicket. Sim completed her great all round performance taking both catches!
