WE'RE BACK!

26/27 kicks off with our first Cambridge league game.
We face Peterborough Vytis at Thomas Clarkson Academy in Wisbech.

This season we're taking things back to square one, learning from last year's lessons and building from the ground up. Focusing on the development of our young squad, and aiming for a longer term goal.

Last weekend, KL Monarchs took on the and finished 5th with the youngest squad in the tournament 🏀

Our team consisted of: 1 × 16-year-old • 2 × 17-year-olds • 3 × 15-year-olds • 4 players aged 18+

We're proud of the way the lads competed against experienced opposition and showed exactly what this programme is about. Our focus remains on developing players and preparing for the season ahead.

The work doesn't stop here. 🏀

Edit: Repost following some feedback.

Player Shoutout!

There have been several standout performances so far this season, but this seems like a great start to us promoting them. So there will be more to come!

A. Lau turned 15 last week and was desperate to start playing mens. With this being his first season of basketball, and after struggling in the first half of the season for U16, like a lot of junior players do, we we're extremely happy to see Austin pushing himself by joining the mens team.

Austin came out and dropped a career high 8pts in his first 3 minutes on the court!
Lets hope he can translate this into his U16 games this weekend!

This is a key reminder why we started this team!
Give the junior and developing players more court time to make mistakes without undue pressure. Allowing them an environment to have fun and build as individuals and a team. Whilst also allowing scope to mix in some expereienced players to further enhance their development!
