Reepham fishery today for the open on main and long lake. Not been here for about 2 months. Wasn't to fussed about where I was drawn as I think pretty much any peg can be won off if you get it right. Rick pulled me out peg 46 on long. Happy with that. Started short on paste for 2 small carp but after foul hooking 3 and a load of liners decided I was wasting my time. Dobbed a couple but they wasn't really interested. Ended up fishing 13m up the left margin in 12inch of water. Was catching really well then it's gone a bit iffy with loads of liners and foul hooking them. Tried feeding less but they wouldn't stay. Ended up with 131 lb for 5th I think. Would of been 134 if I didn't go over in one net. First time I've done that in 24 years of match fishing 😭😭.
Well done Paul ashford winning with 195
Next 4 weights was all between 131 and 138.
14-16 slik was perfect for letting the fish slim out the peg. Took me a while to convert to slick when it first came out but honestly don't think I will use anything else now.

Last day of the festival yesterday. Peg 21 pleasure lake ☚ī¸. One of the 2 pegs I didn't want. Started the match shallow at 14m but soon binned it off as got plagued by roach. Decided to fish the pellet wag at around 25 metres which was about as far as I could go unless I wanted chris on 17 to chuck me in 😂. 3 carp in the first hour and thought if I can get 2 or 3 fish every hour I'll do OK. But as expected from this end of lake no more fish until last 40 mins. 2 f1s down the edge and mugged on on the pole. Weighed 50lb for 6th on Lake and finished 10th overall. We'll done to Dan Hull winning overall, well deserved after missing out a few times in the past.

Well impressed with the new horizon Pro rods especially the 11ft pellet wag. Incredible range of rods and well worth a look if you're in the market for new rods

Forgot to get a catch shot yesterday but luckily Andrew Dearing provided a perfect photo opportunity by chucking the contents of his box all over the car park.

Catch up on the 4 day festival.

Not alot to report from yesterday. Peg 42 on railway. Was happy with this and thought I could manage at least 4 points from here. Ended up 8th in the section with 46lb. Couple of bad decisions and was a bit lazy which has cost me some points.

Today was match lake. Peg 1. Not a peg I fancied. Decided the best way to get a decent weight was to spend most of the match dobbing and feeding a line at 15m up the left edge as the f1s can sometimes show up there. No bites on that though so stuck with the dobbing. 10 fish in the first 1.5 hours and was winning the lake. Then a slow couple of hours picking up odd fish. Last 40 mins down the edge for 6 more fish. Ended up with 123lb for 4th. Happy with that. Dan Hull the Barry gibb look a like has won the lake with 212lb.

First day off the barford 4 day festival today. I was on colton peg 3. Started off dobbing and lost one in the first 10 seconds ☚ī¸ another 10 mins dobbing and 1 fish In the net so chucked a method with pellet to the far bank for 2 quick fish. Ended up dobbing most of the day with a couple more on the method. 18 carp for 159lb and the all important section win. Carlo Dei Rocini 2nd with 100lb and 77lb 3rd. Railway tomorrow.

Peg 48 at railway today. Was happy with this draw as its one of the more consistent pegs on the lake. Kicked the match off short on the pole feeding and fishing 6mm pellet but no bites so picked the method up and had 3 in 3 casts then nothing. Ended up being a case of swapping between the method and short Pole picking up odd fish. The last hour has been brilliant on the short pole catching about 90lb of carp and f1s.
Weighed in 146lb and a win. 😁
Well impressed with the new horizon pro x 10ft feeder. Perfect for venues with a mix of f1s and carp.

Colton lake today. Peg 6. Started on the method over to the reeds and never had a bite đŸ˜ĸ. 2.5 hours in a 1 roach in the net. Had 2 carp on bomb and pellet just over half way across. Then no more indications on this. Last hour I've had 6 on the edge of the tree to my right in 6ft of water. Weighed 64 14 for 3rd with 65 10 2nd and 81 1st.

Fished the open at railway lake yesterday part of barford lakes. Picked out peg 52 at the draw. Not one of my favourite pegs but can be decent in the bowl. Struggled for the first 3 hours only putting 5 f1s in the net. After a couple of phonecalls to Jack and Andrew it turned out no one was catching so still all to play for. Decided to concentrate on the margins hoping for some of the big carp to turn up. Corn and micros 11m to my right produced a 10lb carp and 2 f1s. Then had a good run of fish 5m to my left over groundbait and corn. Ended up weighing 80.03 to finish 3rd with Andrew 2nd with 85.15 and Mark pollard 1st with 99.15.
