The boys have put there self in a great position to win the league with a 8-1 win today, some great goals from Jacob x4 cohen x3 and Zak. Brilliant performance from them today and looks like the league title will go to the final game away to Southwell next weekend. 25 goals, only 4 goals conceded in 4 games the boys should be full of confidence to get the job done ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

The blue team visited long Eaton we have played a few times over the past season and always been a very close game. Long Eaton started the strongest and we found ourselves 2-0 down as always our boys need a bit of
Time to find there feet and we got it back to 2-2. The game was now end to end with some really good football from both teams and chances for both teams. The boys dug deep and battled to the very last second and found themselves winners 5-3. Goals from Jacob x2 Tudor Alfie and Zak. Man of the match was Tudor fantastic work rate up and down the field to help his team.

The red side visited Codnor, these boys are really new together and are learning to play as a team but every week they are progressing. Unfortunately the boys had a 7-2 loss but they’ll learn from it and come back stronger next weeks. Goals from new signing Sol who also got man of the match.

Today our blue team visited division 1 moorgreen colts, after the eye opener last week we knew we had to show an improvement. The game was very even until Jacob and tudor linking up well and tudor finishing. A great piece of play between archie, shaye and alfie slotting home and then a great run by tudor seeing jacob round off the goals. Man of the match was Myles solid performance and taking everything on board the coaches are showing him.

Our red team took the long trip to collingham today and with new players joining and there first game together seen us go 1-0 down and then Lucas getting his first goal for the club and then Jacob with a very good finish. Unfortunately we lost 4-2 in the end. Man of the match was Olly with some great saves today. Plenty for all the boys to work on and keep on improving.

Today the two teams split for the first time to play u8s 5 a side football. Basford blue travelled to long Eaton to play a strong side who’s hitting double figures most games. Obviously we expected a tough game but the boys battled to winning 3-1 but with the game ended in a 3-3 draw. Alfie x2 and ace on the score sheet and man of the match was max in goal with an amazing performance.

Basford red travelled to Carlton to play silva fc. The boys started slowly and went 1-0 down but they woke up and some of the football displayed was amazing. Ending the game 10-1 goals by Jacob x4, Zak x2 George, Myles Hudson and Logan. All of them received man of the match.

Great start for both teams and a good platform for them to keep on developing.

So basford Utd blue u9 Saturdays welcomed Pegasus to our ground, with the weather being so hot was always going to be a struggle but we battled through it and won the game 8-2 with goals from Zak x3 Jacob x2 Alfie, Tudor and ace. Man of the match was Zak was constantly running and scored some beauty’s.

Basford Utd blue Sundays travelled to ravenshead and the heat and hard pitch were a big factor today and we ended the game winning 2-1 with goals from jacob and Alfie.

Unfortunately the YEL have stopped us playing under 9s because we didn’t declare we were a u8 side playing a year up so have forced us to split the Saturday teams in two and will now be basford Utd blue and red. And then basford Utd black on Sundays. This is heartbreaking after watching these boys grow playing 7 a side and are now going to have to drop back to 5 aside and not all play together anymore. These boys didn’t do anything wrong and even tho we agreed to play div 2 all season like the rules state they were still happy to split 13 boys up. We will continue to work hard developing these boys and watch them all grow and enjoy there grassroots experience ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
