Betty The Balloon

We’re at Wentworth balloon festival in Yorkshire this weekend. It’s a slightly soggy Saturday morning but we had a great flight yesterday evening.

Another brilliant Midlands Air Festival comes to an end. What a weekend we’ve had at Ragley Hall! 💖

The weekend starts here! What a beautiful evening to fly.

After launching from Moorgreen we flew for an hour and 40 minutes before landing near Pentrich. Met a helpful landowner and then retiAndrew Robinsonhostelry.

Hot air balloon pilots have to undertake a flight with an instructor every four years to demonstrate their knowledge and flying skills and ensure they continue to meet requirements in order to maintain their licences.
So earlier this week on a cold, misty, frosty morning pilot Neil did just that and he’s good to go for another four years!

The good weather earlier this week has definitely been teasing us but unfortunately the ground is still too waterlogged for Betty to come out and play.

But that’s not going to stop Bertie, our remote-controlled model balloon and Betty replica!

We’ll be at the Griffins Head in Papplewick tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) so come and see us!
