Warriors United is a football club for people with learning disabilities. We have two bases - Nottingham and Mansfield, and have around 80 players

Players have a range of different disabilities and footballing abilities, from 5 years up to adults.

As another Nottingham Forest season comes to an end, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to the club for the 10 season cards they have given us for the past 2 years.

It’s enabled 76 different Warriors to attend a match - some of them attending a few different ones - over the past season!

It’s been a turbulent season, and many of the matches our Warriors attended didn’t end in wins. But the opportunity to go and cheer the team they love was what mattered most!

Here’s just a few of the players (and their parents/carers who been able to attend).

And we are incredibly excited and grateful to hear that Forest have gifted the season cards, again, for the 26/27 season!

Thank you Forest! ❤️🌳

(PS - If you see the same couple of people in many of the photos, they are paying season card holders who coordinate the allocation of the tickets to enable all the different Warriors to attend.)

WANT TO BACK A FOOTBALL TEAM THAT TRULY CHANGES LIVES?

Do you own or run a business? Is your company proud to support the local community? Or do you just want to get behind an incredible, one-of-a-kind football team?

Warriors United FC is looking for kit sponsors for the 2026/27 season.

WHO ARE WARRIORS UNITED?
We’re a Nottinghamshire-based football club for people with learning disabilities, aged from 5 up to their forties.

At Warriors, we believe football is for everyone. We give people who love the game the chance to play, train, be supported and celebrated as footballers.

We don’t play in a weekly league - there aren’t many teams like us! Instead, we take part in friendlies, SEN and Special Olympics events, charity matches and tournaments. We’ve even played at Manchester City’s Etihad complex.

OUR NOTTINGHAM FOREST CONNECTION
Since being invited to an open training session in 2024, Nottingham Forest has taken Warriors under their wing. Footage from that day went viral on social media, after our players interviewed the then-manager Nuno, and it was picked up by BBC, Sky Sports, and more.

Since then, Forest have invited us to their Christmas parties, featured us on TNT Sports, invited us to interview players, and gifted us 10 season cards so our players can cheer the team on at home games.

We might not play every week, but our Warriors are seen, known and loved. 😊

WHAT WE NEED
We’re raising funds for new kits for 2026/27. With around 90 players, plus 20 support volunteers and coaches, it’s a big cost - but we’re not asking one company to cover it all!

Become a kit sponsor:
* Multiple sponsor slots available
* All logos featured on the shirts
* Top sponsors go on the front, others on the back
* Every sponsor gets visibility and serious community goodwill

INTERESTED?
Contact Helen to chat it through. No pressure - just a conversation about how we can work together.

Let’s kit out 110 footballers and show what inclusion really looks like.

Our Nottingham Warriors United FC players LOVED being back outside playing football.

Every summer, once the evenings are light and warm enough, they come out of Monty Hind Youth Centre and move to Dunkirk FC.

It’s great to have all that space, so the players can all be playing at the same time, rather than sitting and waiting their turn.

Many of the players are in training for the Special Olympics National Games in August - along with members of the Mansfield Warriors and a few from Burton Joyce DSActive - so this week gone, the older ones were working hard on understanding their roles when attacking and defending.

And the younger ones were enjoying playing matches together on a bigger pitch.

Our Mansfield Warriors United group is a wonderful place to be!

For ages we were struggling to find a committed coach to run the sessions. Some lovely volunteers kept it going but we needed someone who was qualified and experienced, and would be there every week.

Then Coach Colin stepped up!

From having a handful of players most weeks to around 20 now, with a focus on both fun and football, the group is now thriving. Colin is supported by Jamie and Jack and a few other parents and it’s going well.

Many of the players will be taking part in the Special Olympics National Games in August so they are working hard on improving their individual skills and also playing together as a group.

It’s such a joy to see the group growing, and being so busy, and most importantly, with smiles on the players’ faces!

If you’d be interested in joining, live in or around Mansfield and have Down Syndrome or another learning disability, just get in touch!

Back in December, a lovely artist called Martin Ward raffled off a painting he did to raise money for Warriors United FC. Helped by a big donation from Punjabi Forest he raised a great sum. Thank you Will for helping to make it all happen!!!

And with the money that was raised we decided to use it to buy bobble hats for all our members! As we have been donated 10 season cards for Nottingham Forest matches, to enable all our players to attend a match - or more - throughout the season, a warm woolly hat is always welcome.

And Forest were happy for us to use their logo on the front of the hats to show our link with their wonderful club!

To date, 75 hats have been handed out to our Warriors United players, from both Nottingham and Mansfield.

And don’t they look wonderful?!!!

Next time you are at a match, or watching one on TV, look out for our players wearing their wonderful bobble hats!

Our Warriors are so grateful for having been offered so many wonderful opportunities with Nottingham Forest this past year.

Not only do they have 10 season cards so some of them get to attend every home match, but they’ve also been gifted additional tickets meaning the players have enjoyed even more football.

Recently, 44 of them attended a match on Mother’s Day v Fulham! And today 21 of them were able to go to watch the Open Training session at the City Ground.

Thank you Nottingham Forest for these wonderful opportunities for our Warriors players. But specifically to the wonderful Will who always thinks of us, and makes these things possible!

You Reds!!!

Nice little article about us! So much football and joy all in one place!

Our Mansfield Warriors team have been working hard this term, practicing their key skills of passing, dribbling and shooting.

It’s been wonderful to see both their individual, and their team improvement, and their commitment to the Warriors sessions.

And it’s great that we now have Coach Colin who can consistently be there every week, as well as committed coaching team of Jamie and Jack.

These guys have been there for a very long time and come every week, when they can. Couldn’t ask for a better staff team!

But if you like football and live locally to Mansfield, and ever thought about volunteering, we would love to have you join the staff team!

Induction, ongoing training and kits provided! As well as so much satisfaction from seeing the Warriors progress and know they are succeeding because of your support!

Our Nottingham Warriors celebrated World Down Syndrome Day by wearing their brightly coloured and odd socks to training!

How cool do they all look!
