If step 2 sounds silly to you… that’s a sure fire way to know this post isn’t for you!
Because when I’m in any new space, especially the gym
I gotta know where the toilets are!
And truly, half the battle with taking that first step into the gym
Is just getting yourself acclimatised and knowing where everything is!
Your first session doesn’t have to be the beefiest session you can think of
It doesn’t have to be optimal, it doesn’t even have to make sense
You just gotta honour your own commitments and show up!
Need help showing up in the gym?
I’m taking 1:1 coaching clients on now! Follow the link in my bio to enquire!

This one sentence practically cured my gym anxiety and honestly I still think about it every time I enter a new gym.
Having worked in a seemingly ‘scary’ bodybuilding gym, I learned one thing fast - even the people who had the most INSANE bodies wanted to change something.
Bodybuilders wanted to be faster, powerlifters wanted to get stronger, runners wanted to be faster. Everyone was working on something.
So hearing ‘we’re all here for the same reason’
Changed something for me. Because they were right.
Every single person who walks through the gym door wants to better themselves.
Meaning everyone’s in a level playing field.
Because no matter the reason, the goal is the same. Improvement.
You want to improve your body composition and so do they.
So next time you step into the gym, apprehensive about taking up space.
Remember, we’re all here for the same reason.
