Last weekend we hosted the BRCA LMP12 National Rounds 9+10 for a fantastic weekend of racing.
Thank you all who attended the weekend of racing. Those were 2 very long and jam packed days with 80 cars on Saturday and 73 on Sunday, which is some of the best attendance figures in the past few years!
After a few track changes before Saturday qualifying it was smooth sailing throughout the weekend with grip picking up nicely and lap times dropping. We hope you all enjoyed the events and we would love to see you all back next season.
Once again thank you all for attending and good look at Chesterfield for R11+12!
Booking is filling up fast so get booked in now:

IMPORTANT UPDATE
Unfortunately, we have been informed that the school hall is unavailable on the date that we had booked for Round 2 of the Buggy Blitz on 20th November.
We are working with the school to determine if there is an alternative date to host this round of the championship.
Anyone who has pre-booked will be informed directly via email later today.

Good News!
As of next Friday (28th January 2022) masks will be advisory at our indoor race meetings.
There will be no formal requirement, as per the UK government guidelines, for you to wear one.
Should you wish to do so however, please feel free.

Happy New Year Racers!
We the committee trust that you all had a great festive break and are fully ready to enjoy some racing with us again!
You’ll be aware I’m sure that racing resumes at The Becket School for WBMCC this coming Friday (7th January 2022)!
So get those cars and buggy’s fully prepped, batteries charged and in the words of Delia Smith, “let’s be having you!”
Here’s the not so fun part, in line with Government guidelines, we request that for all those that are not exempt from doing so, wear a face mask or suitable covering (a balaclava would be good for some of you!).
This is not optional and the mask MUST be worn at all times, unless you have spent copious amounts of money at the tuck shop and are therefore eating or drinking.
We will also have sanitiser available for sale should anyone require it, but feel free to bring your own too!
Gloves - wear them if you feel it necessary to do so, these are not a formal requirement at this stage.
Let’s face it, we don’t necessarily like these rules imposed upon us but I’m sure you’ll appreciate that we need to be doing what is required of us to stop the spread of germs. So please respect the rule or you will be asked politely at first to put a mask on swiftly followed by being asked to leave - also politely.
Finally, please remember to bring along your BRCA licence for 2022 as you’ll need to show this prior to being allowed to race. The email confirming payment will be sufficient if you haven’t got the card.
We look forward to welcoming you all back on Friday!
Thank for your understanding,
Andrew Wakefield
Chairman

Our new indoor club race season starts again on Friday 3rd September. As we re-start, we're hoping that we can continue racing through the autumn and winter this year. We will of course be following any relevant government and BRCA precautions to keep everyone safe.
From next Friday:
Masks are optional
Gloves are advised for personal protection (not mandatory) for marshaling
Good hygiene practices including regular hand-washing / sanitising are encouraged
Anyone feeling unwell or suffering any potential Covid symptoms must not attend.
Race fees remain £5 for Members and £8 for Non-Members.
Membership is free for under-13s and £10 for seniors to the end of the year.
Doors open from 5pm and the 1st heat will start at 6.30pm, as before.
Race Classes will remain unchanged for now, but if you want to propose a new race class then let us know:
Off Road (2WD & 4WD combined heats, based on ability)
MTC (rubber & foam combined heats, based on ability)
M-Chassis
Touring
Non-Championship (for anything else)
Full details are available on: wbmcc.co.uk
A link to the pre-booking form is also available on the wbmcc.co.uk homepage, please pre-book to save time on the night.
Pre-payment via PayPal is preferred to [email protected] as Friends and Family please. We will accept cash payments on the night.
Finally: over the past year we have unfortunately seen several club members drift away from the sport either temporarily or longer-term. This means we are now down to the bare minimum of people running the club (just 2 or us). We are relying on your support to help set-up and pack-away each night and we are actively seeking additional help to run the club. Many hands do make light work, so any assistance you can offer, no matter how small, is much needed. Please let me know if you can help in any way. In November we will be holding the Club AGM and at that time we will need to form a new Committee for 2022, so please give this some thought because without additional help we will struggle to run all of the events and keep the club going at the same level as we've all become used to.
Thanks, looking forwards to re-starting club racing again very soon.
Paul.
