A week away in St Day holiday park , Redruth Cornwall , not busy on the roads as traveling time of 4.5 hours from Long Eaton , in fact my fastest time traveling down here over the years. And not gone over 70mph returning almost 50mpg in our Skoda Karoq petrol 1.5 automatic .Rained most of the way down here and very windy . But sun is now breaking out . Going to be an unsettled week for rain and sunshine , but it’s a weeks break from work and time to relax a bit after a very busy 3 months . Stopped at Jamaica inn for a bite to eat , was not impressed by that tourist trap £50 for carbonara and Carol had gammon and chips plus a drink each , very bland .

Just one pool table to do today , a dpt avante garde , but bought at home leisure under their branding as a signature Warwick , Re-cloth in ultimate pool cpba 820 teal cloth . Two more 6ft supreme winner pool tables to do tomorrow and also pop into a club to level two or three tables at 5 full size snooker table venue . All around Ashby de la zouch .

Last couple of days working on a very nice tulip leg Burroughs & Watts rigidus frame snooker table , client wanted the modern look so they had the legs and cushion panels sprayed silver and some very high class polish work to the frame and cushion cappings , which has a very nice flame mahogany woodwork . Re-rubber in best yellow dot Northern rubber , and fitted with Hainsworth Match cloth , also replaced nets and leathers and ball rails , we used plastic ball rails as these are the best type to use if you want nets to last long and balls not to chip out on the metal rings and screws , a common problem often overlooked .a pro lighting set up, all this for a very talented young son , who would like to turn pro , all pockets cut to WPBSA 2005/6 template size of 3.3/8th at the fall .

Out today 1st job re-cloth one of my pool table rental sites at tutbury , match table re-cloth every 3 months as it gets hammered and none stop use , I have two more tables in the same site that only get one re-cloth a year , all tables re-clothed in Hainsworth Match cloth , then later today I have a snooker table frame to set up , slates on level and leave to settle until midweek , then check level and re-rubber cover and nets and leathers . All local to me .

We do get the odd tables to re-cloth that realy is on its last legs , this one has water damage and broken top frame , also rock hard cushion rubber , the cloth was full of mould on the cloth , the cushion bolts where rusted too and took ages to get them off , this table was requested to be put back into playable condition for a sons graduation party . It would be the last time it was re-clothed , a decent set of second hand cushions and re-clothed in strachan 6811 silver and a plate strengthened around the centre pocket .

Out to the limekiln pub in Bulwell to re-cloth supreme winner in Hainsworth Match cloth in special edition silver grey , ready for big money match this Bank Holiday

Re-cloth today at Wollaton Royal British Legion , on an old table that at sometime has had a plugged and re-bored out set of modern Titan cushions and pocket plates put on it ,also replaced nets and leathers and fitted nylon plastic ball rails , and got rid of the very low cost metal set that marks the expensive one G balls . Slate has a dip in the centre , and have advised the fitting of centre slate muntin beams that are adjustable to get the dip out . Pocket plates where loose so made good and oversized leathers cut on the table , so no gaps between leather and wood capping on cushion . Cloth of choice fitted is Strachan tournament 6811 30oz . Ready for snooker league starting next week .
