Penelope and the Ducks

New design in the shop!
There’s a bit of a story behind it too. So my husband (Steve) was diagnosed with tongue cancer on 1st October this year. Which was quite a shock as he had no risk factors, such as smoking or alcohol, and he’s 35 years old.

During October in England we had these amazing Northern Lights which I then googled and realised their acronym was STEVE (Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement), so I decided to base my design on that!

Steve is doing really well recovering at home after having surgery to remove the cancer in his tongue, and a neck dissection which removed about 30 lymph nodes. We got the amazing news a month ago that he is cancer free as they tested everything they took out of him and they found no cancer in his lymph nodes nor on the margins of his wide excision on his tongue. He should be starting a phased return to work in January.

Hello! Long time no see! It’s been a while since I’ve designed anything new, mostly down to a horrendous loft conversion experience which took a whole year! (If I never see another builder again it will be too soon!)

My creativity has definitely taken a battering, but I’m pleased to say it is bubbling up again!

What an amazing year of doubling!
Radiant Cleaners has doubled in size with 32 people now cleaning!
And in January 2022 we will be officially doubling the number of businesses we run = more lives changed in Nottingham and beyond!

Rudbeckia flowers are all over the place at the moment! I completed this illustration before the summer holidays, and as of today, all 3 kids are at school or preschool so I’m settling down to some uninterrupted work. It feels so good! After a good week of tweaking, we now have another home learning print set in the shop. This time it’s the pre-cursive alphabet (so standard upper and lower case) to help little ones form their letters as they learn to write. The times tables print has also had a revamp 🎨
