Studying and Teaching Brazilian Movement, Music and Culture in the Heart of Notts Have you never done any Capoeira before, or only very little?

Capoeira is a Brazilian artform that combines dance, martial-art, ritual, music and acrobatics. For those who practice Capoeira, it brings fitness, confidence, musicality and rhythm, as well as an insight into another culture. No problem. We run regular Beginners Courses, weekly beginners classes and classes for children. You don’t have to be extremely fit, strong or flexible to join our classes. We like to encourage all body types and abilities to join our group, and you will always be supported in learning Capoeira on your own terms. Meet Balança a passionate Capoeira Professora, physiotherapist, and handstand enthusiast training under the guidance of Mestre Parente in Liverpool.

With nearly 20 years in the art form, her journey began in breakdancing before finding her love of Capoeira

She fell in love with Capoeira for its rich heritage and culture, inspiring music, crazy movements and captivating rodas; but above all the amazing community and fabulous friendships made over the years.

On Friday we had the pleasure of training with Mojuba.

During summer, we have a break from classes and this was an opportunity for a group roadtrip. Our students were so keen to choose Mojuba!
We travelled from Nottingham to Edgeware then into Central London.

Firstly, we thank everyone for their hospitality and warm welcome.

We took part in the Friday training session at The Dance Attic. Part dance studio, part sauna!
Then we finished with an amazing Roda.

Mestre Poncianinho said that it was a crossover of styles and some of us were playing Jazz and some of us were playing Rock!
Whatever the styles, undoubtedly this mash up created some amazing interactions.

We all look forward to seeing you again for another collaboration of ideas!

We learnt so much. The journey was worth it!
