Today marks ten years since the passing of Christy O'Connor Snr. We remember one of the finest Irish golfers of his generation and his historic victory at Hollinwell. In September 1970, he navigated our course to defeat a high quality field at the John Player Classic. In doing so, he claimed the £25,000 first prize, which stood as the richest in world golf at the time.
