Calisthenics at FORTIS
Looking at Handbalancing & Statics this Friday 15th at 6pm.

'Statics' refers to holding a fixed position and in calisthenics this means in a fight against gravity. As well as building strength it's great for body awareness and control. Obvs, also for insta photos!

Calisthenics is back Fortis!!
Starting Friday 13th May at 6pm I'll be coaching a 75 minute session on handstands and foundational calisthenics strength.
This is open to non members and members and all levels. Booking is via FORTIS website. Then following on from this it will be twice monthly on a Friday at the same time.
Also, if you fancy an extended yoga session be sure to check out the FLOW workshops.

What is calisthenics? The term โcalisthenicsโ comes from the Greek words โkalosโ meaning beauty and โstenosโ which translates as strength. Utilising mainly bodyweight to build strength, beauty is found in the battle against gravity whilst performing calisthenicsโ signature moves.
This course is suitable for beginners through to intermediates and is designed to develop strength, mobility, and full body control.
Whether your goal is to overcome the fear of getting upside down, balancing a handstand, achieving one pull up or learning a ring muscle up, this course will guide you through the relevant step-by-step progressions that you need to fulfil your goal.

HELP! It's that time of year when we as a culture ramp up the focus on weight loss and fitness goals, but there is a greater need for exercise: people are living day to day in pain.
We as humans, are designed to move, if we don't, it's not good and our brains need to tell us, pain is the line of communication.

Small Change No. 8: Food Prep.
Wait, do not fear, it's not as bad as it's perceived. I'm not talking all meals, just lunches, and not all of them at that. Remember, this is about small sustainable changes so even if you start with two lunches a week and can maintain it then you're heading in the right direction.
It's also not as hard work as it sounds. Have a go at cooking all your protein portions for the week in one batch then, with each evening meal cook some extra veg to have for lunch the following day.
Always aim for whole foods (not processed) and eating in moderation. If you want more specific info please feel free to get in touch.
