Here is your mens 5XI Season Summary 2025/26! 🔰

Player of season: Willoughby Cooke
From Tap ins to drag flicks to wonder goals, Willoughby definitely scored the most goals in the whole club this year. I don’t know what we’d have done without his seemingly weekly hat tricks.

Highlight of season: 4-1 BUCS QF Win vs Leicester
Drew a tough away QF vs UOL, who had won every game in the opposite league. We absolutely battered them in a scrappy game to send us through to the cup semis, with a diving finish and unreal celebration from Alex Edey sealing the win.

Bucs summary:
A 3rd place finish in a quality league this year was something to be proud of. We picked up consistent big results against Luff Trent and UEA, however some tight losses to Warwick 1s cost us. We scored the most goals in the league with exciting attacking and silky hockey, which was the result of the real togetherness we had this year

Midlands div 5 summary:
After just missing out on promotion the last 2 years, we knew we had to go up this year. The boys put in an unreal shift week in week out to grind out lots of tough wins, and we managed to stay in 1st place through the whole season, winning the league with an amazing +48 GD.

Here is your mens 6XI season summary for 25/26 🔰

Bucs
After a tough season achieving 0 points last year, the 6s felt as if they had a lot to prove in the 25/26 season. The boys produced some serious performances throughout the year with a standout game against NTU in an 8-1 battering closing out the season. Our goal of promotion was unfortunately not met this year but the squad are raring to go for the next one. Thank you to our leavers, your commitment to the lightning in your final year did not go unnoticed ⚡️.

National league
An average season in the Midlands Division 5 East saw the 6.5s finishing 7th. A season of highs and lows meant the boys ended up winning as much as they lost, however we managed to beat University of Warwick 2’s and Nottingham 1’s twice which felt good as a mixed 6s and 7s side. We look forward to our cup run next year and hope to mimic the 24/25 season and end up at Lee Valley.

Here is your 7XI season summary for 2025/26! 🔰

BUCS summary:
After securing safety in Division 3 last year, the Stags embarked on another difficult BUCS campaign. The season started in the best way possible, with a win over the eventual league winners, giving the team confidence for a successful season. Momentum built as the Stags grabbed an emphatic last-minute win against the 6s, placing us firmly at the top of the table. A couple of tricky away games halted the title charge before Christmas. However, DRSV proved a fortress, with the team picking up 9 points from the next 4 games. The final two games showed how far the team had come, with another victory against Trent. Big thanks go to Josh, our coach, for his efforts throughout the year. The Stags’ BUCS campaign has been a great success, achieving the team’s highest finish to date and proving to be a springboard to go one better next year.

National League:
Alongside the 6s, the 6.5s enjoyed the competitive jump up in division this year. A 7th-place finish proved a strong result, securing safety and teaching important lessons heading into next season. After final heartbreak, the cup campaign saw the 6.5s earn a hard-fought first-round away win, leading to a second-round clash against a team three divisions higher. Their quality ultimately prevailed in a tight 2-1 loss, but it was a gutsy performance. Overall, it has been a strong season for the 6.5s and one to be pleased with.

Player of the season: Ashin Shah
For a team that won most games by a one-goal margin, Ashin was pivotal in the backline, making crucial saves in tight matches. Topping the league for clean sheets and appearances, his dependability in goal was the foundation of the team’s success and makes him a worthy winner.

Highlight of the Year:
The last-minute victory against the Lightning and the Movember challenge showed what makes this team special—success both on and off the pitch, driven by the commitment and effort of everyone in the 7s.

Here is your 8XI Season Summary for 2025/26! 🔰

Mixed beeston league: It was a memorable season for the 8s as they entered the mixed beeston league. It was difficult at first but the team managed to come into their own with some great performances and mentality into every game in the latter part of the season.

IMS: IMS this year we finished both 2nd and 3rd in the league and with a very tight final unfortunately lost but unreal performances all around from the teams that played.

Highlight of the season: The highlight of the season would have to be Trent away. It was a blowout game with an 8-1 win and one of the best performances of the season for us.
Player of the season: There were very good performances all around this season but Oscar Ware stood out. Every match and training he gave 110% and even if playing out of position he was still at a different level.
