Belfast and Penrith (via Dumfries and Galloway). Completion of our Irish Sea tour. Weather mostly great.
Nottingham Cycle Tours offers its signature and bespoke routes around the key landmarks of our great city for tourists, corporate, students and residents.
We work on demand and have no fixed tour times. We generally offer our tours at weekends only, typically with 48 hours notice minimum. We do offer corporate events 7 days a week, and during the week one off tours for tourists and students if your group size is 6 or above. Whilst Nottingham is brilliant, it isn't large enough to generate sufficient numbers of tourists to make a tourist based busine

The southern leg of Sustrans Route 1, Dover to Colchester, completed a few weeks ago. We've now done Dover to Edinburgh and Inverness to John O Groats. That's 1,300 miles with about 300 to go for Edinburgh to Inverness via the east coast. Comments on each photo.

First post in ages. I (Ben) recently purchased an e-bike for my 'commute' (I split my time between 2 locations) and decided that I do more than enough miles on my standard bike for leisure anyway, so why add 50 odd extra miles in total via a hilly route and get a sweat on again when I don't need to?
You still get a good workout even with the battery on (you chip about 10bpm off your heart rate riding as I normally would, more if you slow down) full power and can do about 40 miles with the battery on a hilly route. After all it cuts out above 15.5mph/25kmh.
Whether commuting or mobility impaired I can't recommend them highly enough. Batteries are getting smaller and I believe that the Department of Transport is investigating whether to raise the speed limit from 15.5mph in the longer term. Bike sceptics can't then moan if you are riding at the built up area speed limit. Competence and insurance implications aside, we think that will be a game changer if coupled with proper storage and changing facilities (public and private) at the end of your journey.
