π South Wales Dragons Crowned Hockey Trophy Champions in Nottingham! π
The South Wales Dragons delivered a flawless performance at the 2025 Nottingham Hockey Tournament, winning all 7 matches in scorching heat to take home the championship trophy.
After a tight 1β0 win in Fridayβs opener, the boys powered through Saturday with four impressive victories, showing resilience, teamwork, and skill throughout. Sunday saw them edge out Tensworth in the semi finals and West Panthersin the final, both by 1β0 scorelines, to claim the title.
π Evan was named Player of the Tournament, scoring key goals in both knockout matches.πͺ

Nottingham Hockey Tournament β Boysβ Team Progress Report
The boys have completed five matches so far in the Nottingham Hockey Tournament, showing grit, skill, and determination throughout.
The tournament kicked off last night with a tightly contested opener against the Northern Ireland Giants. Despite some early nerves, the boys dug deep to secure a hard-fought 1β0 win, with Zack J grabbing the only goal.
Today featured a packed schedule with four matches, and the team rose to the challenge:
1. Vs Guernsey β The day started strong with a confident 5β0 win.
Scorers: Evan (2), Ollie, Zack, Steff
2. Vs West Panthers β A tougher fixture, but the boys held their own to claim a 3β1 victory.
Scorers: Zack, Evan, Dylan
3. Vs North East β A bruising, physical battle saw the Dragons reduced to 10 men twice, but they kept their composure for a solid 2β0 win.
Scorers: Zack, Trystan
4. Vs Tensworth β After going behind early, the boys showed real resilience and firepower to come back and win 4-1.
Scorers: Evan, Finley, Ollie x2
The team has shown immense character, working tirelessly in blistering conditions, and their efforts have earned them a well-deserved spot in tomorrowβs semi-finals.
Player Shout-Outs:
β’ Defence: A rock-solid performance all day from Steff, Ethan, Ted, Eli, Tom, and Rhodri, who worked relentlessly to keep the opposition at bay.
β’ Goalkeepers: Huge credit to our keepers Ffelix and Toby, who conceded just 2 goals in 5 matches β an outstanding effort between the posts.
β’ Midfield: Endless energy and control from the engine room β Gabe, Dylan, Finley, Jac, Evan, and Mack β who battled hard and drove the team forward.
β’ Strikers: Up front, Zack, Ollie, Trystan, and Josh brought flair, speed, and crucial goals to lead the line.
