Hi Dave
The recent sample of the Lake water has shown medium-high levels of blue-green algae such that we have been advised to put up signage to warn the public …not to use the water for swimming for example, keep dogs away and to wash properly if they come into contact with it.
I have put some warning signs ( X8) at various locations around the area today to warn people ( not to swim etc and prevent their dogs from entering the water too)… so can you inform your members as they are most likely to be affected.
Presence of BGA does not mean the water is toxic but there is a risk of toxicity under certain conditions….better to be safe etc

As you are all aware my dad passed away peacefully on the 31st July. My didn't want any kind of wake but we feel we would like to raise a glass in his memory at The Rose and Crown on Friday 8th August at 1pm anyone that would like to join us to raise a glass to this amazing man please do! Look forward to seeing you there!❤️
If any members are free some of the pegs could do with a tidy up
Thanks
I have dropped the annual donation off at Ash Lea school today raised through day tickets and club funds £314
Paul Edwards is going down the lake about 9ish to do a bit of peg maintenance on the far side it would be best if any member planning on fishing tomorrow to not fish those pegs
Thanks
Far Side
Under no circumstances are you allowed to drive or park your car down the side of the lake on the far side from the car park at the bottom of the lane before the second gate. Lee Scudder will be replacing the post some member had taken out and threw away anyone found to be driving or parking their car on this side will be banned from the club
Pegs
At the moment due to the weather a lot of the pegs are well overgrown meaning access is very limited to a lot of the pegs it is no good complaining to me that the pegs you want to fish is un accessible due to the overgrowth.
As we have 100+ members it should not be down to the few who turn up when we have a maintenance day so if any member has a spare hour or two to go down the lake with a pair of shears and cut back what you can from around the pegs.
It’s your lake you need to take responsibility for the up keep
