Phoenix Locomotives

Join us this Friday as we officially “Re-launch” the Titan 7 ¼” gauge locomotives - Originally from Phoenix Locomotives but now very much an MRW designed product.

These engines have been through an extensive re-design and evaluation process to ensure they meet the requirements of the modern day discerning customer.

The improvements include;

- Battery trays and clamping methods
- Upgrade the controller to a 4QD system as standard
- New light sockets for forward and reverse lighting
- New brackets to hold down the bonnets and roof
- Improved power train and chain tensioning methods
- A significantly thicker buffer beam now with the ability to fit sprung buffers and multi height couplings
- New improved press braked design for added structural rigidity

We currently have four of these locos in production with the first one heading out to a very patient customer early next week. The other three have all already been spoken for so if you would like to order a Titan please do get in touch and we will start putting together another production run of what will undoubtedly be a very popular loco in the hobby/market.

The Bo-Bo Titans are supplied ready to run completed in a colour of your choice with a 4QD controller as standard. The locos also have the option to upgrade to sprung buffers and a realistic sound system.

The process of adding various Phoenix Locomotive products to the MRW website is ongoing.

At the moment we have only done 7 1/4", but 5" versions will soon be following.

We had another milestone this week...Phoenix Locomotives Ltd is now part of Miniature Railway Workshops Ltd. Cheltenham Model Engineers hosted the Curly Bowl over the weekend. My friend Neil (3rd from the right) kindly sent these pictures. Nice to see a 14xx Pansy in BR black. Well done to all the participants.

A Phoenix LNER/BR 20 ton Brake Van kit is for sale on behalf of a customer. This is a 7.25" gauge kit which has never been built. All components are there to complete. No machining, just hand tools required. These vans were very popular when we had them in production. Richard is asking a very fair £575 for it. All enquiries via Phoenix will be passed on to Richard the seller and you can then deal directly with him. We have more pictures available on request by email.

If you plan to send a locomotive to Denmark then I can recommend Athene-Flyttefirma. They are a specialist removals company and call in the UK twice a month. The loco we shipped (Lister autotruck) should arrive with the customer sometime today (Friday 12th July).
