To every kind of dad today — the ones who taught you to ride, the ones who stood at the gate in all weathers, the ones who never sat in a saddle but mucked out anyway. 🐴

To the father figures who stepped up without being asked. The grandads, the stepdads, the uncles, the mentors who quietly became the steadiest presence in your life.

And to those no longer with us — the ones we wish we could call today. You’re still in every early morning at the yard, every habit we didn’t know we’d kept, every moment we catch ourselves thinking he’d have loved this.

Happy Father’s Day to all of them. The ones here, the ones we’re missing, and everyone in between. ❤️

That crusty build-up on the front of your horse’s cannon bones isn’t mud — it’s cannon keratosis. A chronic skin condition caused by an overproduction of keratin, it’s surprisingly common and often mistaken for dried mud or the early stages of mud fever. The difference matters, because scrubbing it harshly can cause irritation and make it worse.

The key is gentle, consistent removal — and that’s exactly where the Nimbrush comes in. Its soft-flex bristles work the crusts away without aggravating the skin underneath, making it the ideal tool for horses prone to this condition.

If in doubt, always check with your vet — but for day-to-day management, gentle is always better.

Strike! 🎳 🐏Our Hay Play went rolling straight through the flock this morning and got itself a perfect split - sheep skittles 😆. Brilliant reminder that Hay Play isn’t just for horses. Sheep, goats, alpacas - any forage-loving animal can enjoy slow, natural grazing with one of these in their field. Tough, fillable with hay, and keeps the whole yard entertained (shepherd included, chasing it back). Who’s getting one for their flock?

New week, fresh stock! 🎉 The Corner Stable Slow Feeder is back and ready to go.

Designed to fit neatly into any stable corner, this feeder slows down hay intake, reduces waste, and keeps your horse occupied for longer between feeds — a great way to start the week off right, especially with turnout still a bit hit and miss.

Meet the donkeys of 🐴🖤

This week we’re sending all our love to the donkey herd at the sanctuary — a gorgeous bunch who, much like our equine friends, absolutely thrive on enrichment and a really good scratch. We treated a few of them to a groom with the Nimbrush during our visit, and honestly, the reaction said it all — ears down, eyes half closed, total bliss. 😌

And on a happier note — we’re so pleased to hear that Nora’s surgery went well. Sending her all the best for a speedy recovery 🙏💛

The Horse Trust receives no government funding, so every bit of care, every procedure and every enrichment toy relies on donations from people like you.

What a privilege to spend yesterday with the incredible team and supporters at 🐴🖤

Based in Speen, Buckinghamshire, The Horse Trust is the oldest equine charity in the world, founded in 1886 — and for over 139 years it has been a safety net for retired service horses from the Police, Army and therapy charities like Riding for the Disabled, as well as a safe haven for horses, ponies and donkeys rescued from neglect and abuse.

Their history with the military runs deep — during World War One, the charity provided the first ever motorised horse ambulance to the army to help war horses on the front line. That spirit of service hasn’t wavered. More recently, they were there for five military horses needing essential respite following the bolting incident in Central London, and before that provided a place of recovery for Urbane, the brave Metropolitan Police horse viciously mauled in a dog attack.

Today, the Trust provides lifetime sanctuary for over 100 retired horses, ponies and donkeys at their Home of Rest, caring for animals who have served with the Police, the Military and other charities. They receive no government funding — every animal cared for, every retirement made possible, is down to the generosity of their supporters.

We were thrilled to discover that The Horse Trust already use our Hay-Savers — and we couldn’t be prouder to play even a small part in caring for these remarkable animals. We left a few treats behind on our visit too, including the Nimbrush, Snack & Play treat balls and Shark Skups for the team to enjoy with their residents. 🎁

They’re so much more than “just horses” right???

Turn your stable corner, field shelter or fence line into a proper enrichment station. 🐴

The Hay Play Spinner is a fixing kit that mounts your Hay Play securely in place — two stainless steel brackets and a wooden pole that fits neatly into any stable corner, or between fence posts for field use. The Hay Play sits on the pole, spins freely as your horse works it, and can be refilled and replaced in seconds.

No rolling around the stable. No rattling across the yard at midnight. Just a horse happily working their hay at their own pace — exactly as nature intended.

It’s one of the simplest stable enrichment upgrades you can make, and it works just as well in a field shelter or between posts for horses on restricted grazing this summer. ☀️🌧️

Hay Play sold separately — link in bio to shop the spinner kit now.
