The Poplars Sports Ground

We've enjoyed having card carrying members playing during the summer holidays at the Poplars on the 3G Pitch courtesy of Burton Joyce Football Club. Unfortunately a minority have to spoil it. Today we have had 5 known youths based in Carlton climb fences. When asked to leave used foul language and threatening behaviour towards BJPC Staff. They then returned an hour later after ejection and started again. All are known to us with 2 being ex players. Their parents can initially expect notifications of permanent exclusion orders for very offensive & totally unacceptable behaviour. (CCTV scaled down res image from 1 of 16 HD cameras)

Summer Holidays 3G football is back on with Burton Joyce Football Club. All age groups from BJFC can come down 10 am to 3.30 and play free of charge courtesy of their club. ⚽️⚽️⚽️. Use you BJFC members card to swipe in - only through the turnstile. Non BJFC players can pay £5 per week or wait until 3.30 pm Monday Wednesday or Friday to swipe in on Freeplay time

Friday Summer nights are Community Nights at the Poplars Sports Ground. A chance for locals or club members families to come down for a social gathering Bar, BBQ great views and atmosphere. Foster £3 pint Black Sheep £2.90 Stella £3.30 pint. Burgers🍔 and Hot Dogs🌭 £2.00. Unwind bring a ball and a blanket -free to all

Easter April 2017 Half term school holiday access has been agreed on the 3G pitch during the daytime for the two weeks. BJFC players and cardholders can access the pitch free of charge using their proximity card.
Monday 3rd April to Friday 7th April 10am - 4 pm
Monday 10th April to Friday 14th April 10am - 4 pm

Freeplay sessions are still on mon/wed/fri 3-5.30pm

BJFC has once again organised 3G access to all Club members at no extra charge during the day. The 3G will be open from 10am-4pm Monday 13th through to Friday 17th Feb. Bring your BJFC card swipe in through the turnstile. Freeplay for non BJFC overlaps from 3.30-5.30 Monday- Wednesday-Friday. Day time access can be bought for £5 for the week

Sunday 2-6 pm 3G BJFC SESSIONS
Important reminder to pass onto BJFC football club members. This session is paid for by Burton Joyce Football Club. Any current member of BJFC can play between these times. This is not a Freeplay open session for anyone else- it is restricted to BJFC MEMBERS ONLY. If you haven't got a card or have lost it ask for another. There is no access before 2 pm as another team is on. Please use turnstile only from 2pm onwards or your card will not work. We need you card swipes to validate numbers for monitoring and billing purposes. If you haven't swiped in you will be asked to leave the pitch and swipe in. 3 weeks ago we had 32 players in and 2 swipes. Help us to keep this great facility running in top condition. Great changes to Freeplay at the Poplars 3G pitch. As from January 2017 we are extending resident Freeplay sessions for an extra day on the 3G to Monday,Wednesdays and Fridays from 3.30-5.30pm. So Thursdays are out now .If you live in Burton Joyce you can apply for a turnstile access card and come down for a mash up. Lads, Dads, girls, boys grandads

Delighted to have hosted the Three Villages Gala Fun Run 2017. 400 runners turned up for a great mornings activity.

Preparations are well underway for the Annual Three Villages Fun Run 2017. This Bank Holiday Monday 2nd January. Race starts at 10.30am. On the day Registration from 9am. Forecast is for clear blue skies and a crisp morning. Love to see you down here at The Poplars Sports Ground, Burton Joyce. to work off all that Christmas cheer.
Mugs of tea,coffee and bacon sandwiches available on the day. Medals to all finishers and trophy to Fastest man and Women at 10k.--- Adults £7 children £4

Updating and improving. Can't believe it almost a year since our 3G pitch was installed. What an amazing transformation to our village and how we play sports. Thanks to for such a change in sport in Nottingham with Burton Joyce Football Club. All these tech things go on quietly in the background -checks quality of bounce, roll and pitch consistency done today - all part of the FA programme of improving UK Sport . We passed our tests with flying colours ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Delighted to announce the start of regular girls football training sessions for Under 9's 10's and 11's on our new 3G pitch. Under the careful eye of FA qualified Rob Jovanovic, these fun and energetic sessions will be after school every Thursday night (day changed)at 3.45- 4.45pm for an hour.
Supported by Burton Joyce Football Club and BJ Parish Council as a key focus group, we are keen to develop girls football skills with the possibility of some moving into a regular team.
