🏁 Final league game of the season
What a way to finish the season 👏
The girls went into half time trailing, but clearly somebody reminded them football matches are actually 70 minutes long 😅⚽️
Second half?
Battling, pressing, passing, tackling… and creating enough chances to win about 4 games! Unfortunately the goalposts and Doveridge keeper had other ideas. Never the less, still a hard fought draw.

Sleetmoor United U13s Girls v Brinsley U13s Girls
🏟️ Venue: Sleetmoor United Football Club
👥 Attendance: 50+
🌞 Weather: Glorious sunshine
Brinsley travelled to Sleetmoor United today with only 9 available players but produced a performance full of determination, teamwork and resilience.
Despite the disadvantage in numbers, the girls worked tirelessly throughout the game and created several good chances. Unfortunately, they were unable to find the finishing touch their play deserved.
As the match went on, the effort of playing with 9 players in difficult conditions began to show, and Sleetmoor United eventually ran out comfortable winners.
The scoreline does not reflect the commitment and attitude shown by the Brinsley players, who supported each other from the first whistle to the last and can take great pride in their performance today.
Well done girls — tremendous effort from everyone involved. 💙🧡⚽

Brinsley Comets U12 Jets vs Hucknall Linby Harriers (Away) – Sunday 3rd May
Coaches: Ryan & Tom
Squad:
Violet, Ava N, Ava D, Laila, Cleo, Isla, Scarlett, Ellie, Liv, Ella, Mad Dog, Freya
The Comets made a confident start despite the wet conditions, showing great energy and determination from the first whistle. It was an end-to-end game in the rain, with both teams battling hard throughout.
Violet produced some excellent saves early on and was well supported by a solid defensive display. With Hucknall playing with eight players, there were a couple of short breaks to rotate and rest the girls. Liv, Isla and Cleo came off for Ava N, Mad Dog and Freya as the Comets continued to press forward.
The Comets created several chances, including a few shots that tested the Hucknall keeper. A well-worked corner was attacked strongly but just missed the target, while Scarlett also came close with an effort that was well saved.
Hucknall took a 1–0 lead into half-time.
The second half saw the Comets raise the tempo and show real determination. Several chances came close to finding the net, making for a tense and competitive game.
The equaliser came from a corner, with Liv finding the back of the net to make it 1–1 and give the Comets a deserved lift.
Hucknall later regained the lead to make it 2–1.
The difficult weather conditions made for a challenging afternoon, but the girls continued to battle until the final whistle. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the Comets’ day, but the team showed resilience and spirit throughout — and we go again next week.
Player of the Match: Isla Clarke – for an outstanding shift in centre midfield, working tirelessly and covering every area of the pitch.

The Devils had their final game of the season against DJFC who needed a win to seal the title of champions.
With only 8 players available for the Devils, it was yet again going to be another tough day.
DJFC started out very strong showing exactly why they were top of the table, and the Devils just struggled to get any kind of hold of the game. The Devils went in at half time with a significant goal difference against them.
We changed things up in the second half, brought George out of goal, Marco stepped up in goal and this brought a different energy to the game with Freddie C stepping up to score a great free kick from the edge of the box.
DJFC then got their scoring boots on again and with the Devils down to seven by the end of the game, it just wasn't their day.
Not the end to the season we wanted but the boys have all tried this season, it's been really hard with losing three players towards to end of the season to injury and we wish Theo, Oliver and Josh lots of speedy get well wishes❤️

This was unfortunately our last league game as a Brinsley team as we move on to pastures new. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank Adam and Claire for giving the team the opportunity to grow and achieve so much in the last few years. We've had changes, coach Sam taking on the team on his 16th birthday and twice taken the boys to runners up in the league and winners at tournaments.
We take with us lots of special memories and happy kids playing football which is what grassroots football is all about
Let's go Devils 😈

⚽️ Brinsley FC v Coalville Town ⚽️
📍Venue: The Den (AKA Brinsley Recreation Ground)
🌡Glorious Sunshine 🌞.
🐕 Attendance 51 and 5 dogs.
Brinsley came into their last home game of the season full of confidence with 3 great results previously.
A dominant 1st half display from the girls bringing home a 2-0 lead to half time.
A better second half from the opposition resulted in more pressure on the Brinsley goal. Brinsley grabbed a 3rd. The last 20 minutes were a tight affair with Coalville grabbing 2 well taken goals.
Brinsley stood strong and held out for another win.
Player of the match: Georgia. A fantastic display from our stand in left back. Played with conference and skill throughout.

The Devils had their penultimate game of the season away at Wollaton Rockets on Saturday. With manager Sam away and 3 significant injuries in the team, the lads knew it would be a tough ask today.
The Devils started off strong in which was an end to end game for the whole hour. With usual goalkeeper Theo out, George stepped up to be in goal, making some early important saves.
The defence were solid as usual and it didn't take long for Junior to break through and score our first goal. The Devils continued to play some great football, just not quite finding that extra finish.
Towards the end of the first half, Charlie had a great run down the wing, cut in and calmly slotted the ball into the far corner making it 2-0 at half time.
Wollaton came out fighting in the second half with some great football, hitting the post and making midfield and defence work hard. With only 9 players available, the Devils were getting noticeable tired towards the end of the game, but they kept going keeping a clean sheet to the final whistle.
It's been a tough few weeks for the lads with the injuries, we hope you all rest up and get better soon🤞
Last game of the season next week, the table is tight and is there for the taking.

ATFA Brinsley Falcons 🦅 vs Eastwood Athletic All Stars
📅 18th April 2026
📍 Brinsley Recreation Ground
First Half
The Falcons came out of the blocks flying, looking sharp, confident, and ready to take control.
At the back, Finley was putting in crucial tackles, showing composure under pressure, while Lincoln dictated the tempo in central midfield. Oliver was everywhere — breaking up play and driving the team forward — and out wide, Riley and James were causing constant problems. Up top, Charlie was a real handful, keeping the Eastwood defence on their toes.
The first big chance fell to Charlie, who attempted an ambitious looping effort from range, only to be denied by a strong save from the keeper.
Riley then thought he had produced a moment of magic — smashing home an incredible strike from a kick-in — but unfortunately the goal was ruled out as it hadn’t been touched beforehand.
The pressure continued to build. A dangerous corner from Riley nearly found Charlie, who came close to deflecting it in at the near post.
Despite the Falcons dominating possession and creating the better chances, Eastwood managed to capitalise on an opportunity. It was a tough one to take, especially with their goalkeeper in inspired form.
Second Half
The second half saw a defensive change, with Alastair coming on for Finley — both proving to be reliable rocks at the back.
The Falcons continued to play some excellent football. A slick passing move saw Oliver arrive at the back post, but his effort drifted just wide. Moments later, James had a similar chance — again, agonisingly close.
As the half wore on, tired legs began to show and Eastwood grew into the game slightly. Daniel was called into action more frequently as the opposition pushed forward.
The Falcons refused to give in.
A brilliant attacking move saw James almost tap home, only for a defender to intervene at the last second and deflect the ball over.
Then came one of the biggest moments of the game — Charlie struck with his weaker foot from just outside the box. The ball looked to have crossed the line after the keeper got a touch, but the goal wasn’t given, much to the disbelief of the Falcons coaches.
Moments later, another scramble in the box saw multiple efforts blocked — Lincoln, Charlie, and James all involved — but somehow Eastwood survived. It just wasn’t falling for the Falcons.
Out wide, Riley continued to be a constant threat, but was on the receiving end of a heavy challenge. Jonah rushed on to assist, and it looked like a painful knock — we’re all hoping our number 10 is okay ❤️
As fatigue set in, Eastwood created further chances, but Alastair produced a superb last-ditch tackle to deny what looked like a certain goal.
Full Time
It was one of those days where the Falcons created plenty of opportunities and played some excellent football, but were repeatedly denied by a combination of strong goalkeeping and resilient defending.
After the match, both teams showed great sportsmanship, shaking hands before enjoying a fun penalty shootout together.

Brinsley FC U13s Girls 🆚 Codnor Sports U13s Girls
📍 The Lion’s Den (Brinsley Recreation Ground)
A local derby for the girls, and the closest league encounter in the Derbyshire Girls League! The first meeting between these two sides was a fast and furious 2-2 draw, so expectations were high coming into this one.
This time, however, the Bobcats well and truly stuck their claws in 🐾
With bragging rights on the line, Brinsley came out strong and took control early, racing into a 3-0 lead before half-time with some excellent attacking football and clinical finishing.
In the second half, Brinsley remained solid and disciplined, limiting Codnor to very few chances and seeing the game out with confidence and composure.
A fantastic all-round performance from each and every player 👏

Friendly Brinsley Comets vs Bingham Reds
Sunday 12th April 10am
A cold and blustery day set the scene as the Comets took on Bingham Reds at home.
Bingham started quickly, taking an early 1–0 lead within the first few minutes. The Comets responded well, with a corner that was defended strongly by the opposition. In midfield, Laila and Anayah put in some excellent tackles, helping drive an end-to-end, competitive first half.
Ellie was in outstanding form in goal, making several brilliant saves to keep the Comets in the game. Despite her efforts, Bingham managed to extend their lead to 2–0.
There were some key changes, with Laila and Freya coming off for Ava N and Ella. Scarlett came close to pulling one back with a well-struck shot that was saved by the keeper. A special mention to Violet, who returned from injury as Anayah came off.
⸻
The second half saw the Comets come out much stronger, continuing the end-to-end action. Ellie again made a tremendous save early on to keep hopes alive.
The breakthrough came when Freya scored a clever goal, assisted by Ella, bringing it back to 2–1. The Comets pushed forward with renewed energy, earning a corner that led to a shot just missing the target after a save from the keeper.
Despite the improved performance, Bingham added a third goal, finishing the match 3–1.

Player of the Match
Liv – for an outstanding performance, showing great strength and determination to win the ball on numerous occasions.
