Feral Hearts: Dog behaviour and training solutions

I spent a long time and a lot of time until recently worrying about what other trainers / professionals judging me, and trying to fit to other peoples methods and constantly chasing what one person or the next was saying was the 'right' way or the next best sales gimmick to learn and follow... If you've spent more than a minute looking at the state of the dog training industry you'll be aware of how toxic it is.

This didn't just impact me as a trainer, but as an owner too.

Thing is, dog training and behaviour overall is actually pretty damn simple, and the only 'right' way to handle your dogs behaviour and training is to look at and listen to the dog in front of you. Are they happy? Are they fulfilled? Are we doing things that make their lives better overall? If we can answer yes to those things... Nothing else really matters.

So if you're caught up in all the contradicting advice, and feeling confused, or overwhelmed... just Listen to your dog. They honestly tell you all you need to know. ❤️

He looks so ferocious 🤣 But he is not, and this is actually a huge win. I put too much control into out play early on, and have been trying to build motivation and enthusiasm back up since. I reckon we're getting there... 🫣

Kai made a new friend... straight into no personal space and lots of snogging... 🤣

Henry struggles with being on lead around other dogs. So we reduced frustration by letting him have some off lead time with kai. Before then adding the lead back in for some on lead practice!

Lots of work left to do, but he is smashing it.
