Monday 14th November 2022 - Friday 18th November 2022 marks the start of Anti-Bullying Week.
This event is for raising awareness of and bringing together positive actions in order to prevent bullying and intimidation. 👊
Archery can be a great way to express individuality and socialise! It is a fantastic sport as it brings together people from different backgrounds, ages, disabilities and genders.
Whether you want to expand your horizons or find friends, archery clubs are full of supportive and kind people who will help you (even if they are competing against you). 💗

The winter season is upon us!
Outdoor archery has many benefits towards our well-being... but what about indoor archery?
Indoor archery was designed to help archers shoot target archery indoors during the colder months. Clubs usually practice indoor archery when weather conditions would make it difficult for them to shoot outdoors. 🌧❄️
Archers would shoot at short distances (varied upon rounds) with smaller target faces (60cm/40cm).
Here are the benefits and skills of shooting indoor archery:
Improves Concentration - By tuning out your surroundings and focusing on your form whilst releasing the bowstring time after time, indoor archery can aid you in coping with high levels of pressure within your daily activities.
Building Confidence - As you are shooting against other archers, it helps to boost self-esteem by working on technique and accuracy.
Promoting Determination - The saying "hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard" by Ella Gibson demonstrates that if at first you do not succeed, try again.
Patience and Perseverance - For some, archery may be easy to learn but difficult to master; the process comes first and the results come after. The action of repeating a shot precisely can make you a better archer and subsequently... a better person!
Would you like to try shooting indoors? 🤔

Last Sunday on the 25th of September, the Wilford Bowmen celebrated their 74th anniversary since 1948.
There was a Celebration and Presentation Shoot where trophies were handed out to club members due to their achievements and successes; archers from all generations joined to commemorate this milestone! 🏆
This shows that archery is a sport where everybody can join in and be a part of a wonderful adventure.

Due to the current situation with the coronavirus, the club is closed to non members.
We were hopeful that we could resume beginner courses and taster session. Following guidance for the governing body for archery, the decision has been made to suspend beginner courses and taster session until early 2021.
